A Bigger Home. A Bigger Purpose. A Bigger Dream.

When I planned our ribbon cutting at 602 West K, I thought perhaps 20–30 people would join us. Nearly 60 showed up—or so I was told! ❤️

Looking around and seeing so many people who have supported, encouraged, partnered with, referred to, and believed in what we are building was incredibly meaningful.

I felt humbled. I felt deeply grateful. And most of all, I felt the love. ❤️

It was one of those moments that reminded me that none of this is built alone.

This ribbon cutting wasn’t simply about a bigger office for Caring Transitions of Benicia & Vallejo. It marked a bigger team, a growing reach, and a bigger dream: creating a community where seniors and their loved ones feel supported through life’s transitions and empowered to age joyfully.

Here are the words I shared before we cut the ribbon…

Although Caring Transitions of Benicia & Vallejo has been in business since December 2024, today marks a very special milestone for us.

We’re celebrating our move into a bigger home here at 602 West K Street in Benicia.

We’re also celebrating our expansion into Elk Grove in Sacramento County, and I’m especially excited to welcome our new business partner, Kenny Hoang. Together, we’ll be able to serve even more seniors and families in Elk Grove and the surrounding communities.

But for me, our growth isn’t simply about a bigger office or a bigger territory.

It’s about a bigger purpose.

Through Caring Transitions of Benicia & Vallejo, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families through some of life’s biggest transitions—from downsizing and relocation to estate liquidation and cleanouts.

And that experience has taught me that aging is about so much more than moving belongings.

Behind every move is an older adult.
Behind every estate is a lifetime of stories.
And behind every senior is often a family trying to figure out what comes next.

That inspired a bigger question:

What more can we do to help older adults—and the people who love and care for them—age joyfully?

That is the vision behind SEAVA Group, the legal owner of our Caring Transitions of Benicia & Vallejo franchise.

Our hope is for 602 West K to become more than an office. We want it to be a place where seniors, families, caregivers and community partners can connect, learn, share resources and support one another.

And that vision is already taking shape as we welcome Carquinez Village, a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that helps older adults remain independent and age in place for as long as possible, to share this home with us.

Because I truly believe:

“It takes a community to care for a senior, and a village to nurture a child.”

Before we cut the ribbon, I’d like to thank my family, friends, business partner, subcontractors, referral partners, the Benicia Chamber of Commerce, and most importantly, my awesome team members. I couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you for believing in me, for supporting this journey, and for welcoming me into my new community—my new home.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to the seniors and families who have trusted us during some of the most important and vulnerable transitions of their lives. Your trust is the reason we are here.

Today, we’re celebrating a bigger home, a growing team, and a bigger dream— to learn mindfully, live fully, and age joyfully—together.

Who honors a person’s story when there is no family there to receive it?

Recently, our Caring Transitions of Benicia team was entrusted with the estate of a veteran and his wife, who had no children or close family or friends listed in their trust as beneficiaries.

Their estate was being managed by a trustee, and we were entrusted with the liquidation and cleanout of the home they had shared for 35 years.

As we worked through their belongings — his uniform and medals, photographs, machines and tools from his workshop; her library and love of cooking; their extensive collection of books and magazines — and, most importantly, the memories of a life well lived, we were reminded that estate liquidation and cleanout can be about so much more than selling tangible personal property and clearing a home.

Some things are sold. Some are donated. Some find new homes. Some are recycled.
But throughout the process, we try to remember that every item belonged to someone, and every home holds the story of a lifetime.

This one touched me personally. My own father is also a veteran. He is now 83, but very little remains from that chapter of his life. After the war ended in his country, circumstances meant that he had to let go of many of the military belongings and mementos that once carried his identity and history.

Perhaps that is why, when I hold another veteran’s uniform, medals, photographs, or personal belongings, I see more than things to be sold or cleared away. I see pieces of a life, an identity, and a journey that deserve to be acknowledged.

Even when there is no family there to tell the story, a life still deserves to be honored.
It is a privilege to help steward these final chapters, especially for those who dedicated part or all of their lives in service to their country.

To every veteran, regardless of where or when you served: thank you for your service, your dedication, and for doing the best you could with the circumstances life placed before you. 🙏💕
