This is tacked up on my design wall. It is my "spare time" project. This is the center of quilt. 720 pieces in all, not counting the pieced border that will be similar blocks. As I work on it, I wonder how many people know how many steps go into making a quilt. It goes something like this: pick a pattern, pick out fabric (in this case, that meant digging through lots of scraps). Then ironing pieces flat, cutting blocks out, placing them in a pleasing manner, pinning curves, sewing seams, ironing seams, sewing blocks into rows, sewing rows to make top, ironing in between each step. Then adding borders. Finally, picking out backing(possibly piecing backing), loading it in machine, layering batting, and top. Then comes the quilting process. Taking it off the machine, trimming edges, making binding strips, attaching binding to front of quilt and then sewing it to the back of the quilt(preferably by hand.) = finished quilt.
I finally finished this one. Took a lot of time to find all the scraps to assemble. I picked a painter’s pallet/ brush to quilt it. Decided to keep it for myself. I can’t figure out how to add photos, so I will start a new post.
