Just after 1:00 am this morning, White Mountain Fire was dispatched to a traffic accident with multiple injuries on US Hwy 6 at Stateline. Arriving units found a pickup vs semi, head on, with the driver’s of both vehicles injured. The driver of the pickup sustained major injuries and the driver of the semi minor injuries. Both patients were transported to Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop. Damage to the pickup was catastrophic. Thanks to all assisting agencies, CHP, Chalfant Valley Fire, and Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE: Fire is out. Hwy 6 has been reopened. Power will be out on the Sagehen Circuit until pole can be replaced

UPDATE: 2 hours into this call and SCE cannot give an estimated time of arrival. Pole continues to actively burn.

Highway 6 is currently closed at White Mountain Ranch Rd and Cottonwood Ranch. White Mountain Fire units are on scene of a pole fire at Lone Tree Ranch and Hwy 6. Units are awaiting SCE arrival. There is a potential for a power outage soon.

White Mountain Fire units were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover this morning at Montgomery Pass. Vehicle struck the guardrail and overturned multiple times down an embankment. Thankfully only minor injuries to the occupants. Due to the severity of the impact, Medic 4 transported both to Northern Inyo Hospital for observation

White Mountain Fire units were dispatched to a traffic accident on Highway 120 this evening. Luckily a passerby noticed the vehicle on this closed section of road. Vehicle was rolled off the highway with the driver trapped inside. Medic 4 and Engine 3034 were able to extricate and transport the patient, with serious injuries, to Northern Inyo Hospital. Thank you to Chalfant Fire, Mono County Sheriff and CHP for their assistance.
