Sorry for the late post. This is our monthly call response for the month of September. 

Last month, Shaw responded to a total of 12 calls for service. The breakdown of calls is as follows:

We are proud to announce that Probationary Firefighters Will High and Josh Terry have successfully advanced from probationary status to certified firefighters with our department!

We are proud of both of these guys for their dedication to the department, commitment to their training, and hard work in reaching this milestone. Their efforts reflect the teamwork and determination it takes to serve our community.

Please join us in congratulating Will and Josh on this accomplishment! We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and serve the Shaw community.

With a hurricane quickly approaching the Gulf, as of right now Arkansas is expected little to no rain out of this system. However, high winds could be a problem on Saturday, with winds being around 40 MPH, a burn ban still remains in effect for Saline County and Shaw fire district, please do not burn. If you see smoke, report it immediately.

Today is the first day of Fire Prevention week and with that all this week we will be making post with safety tips.

Shaw Volunteer Fire Department would like for you to remember.

Fire Prevention Starts With You!
A few simple precautions can help prevent a fire before it starts:

Never leave cooking unattended.
Keep flammable items away from heat sources.
Check electrical cords for damage or overloading.
Test your smoke alarms regularly and replace batteries as needed.
Keep fire extinguishers accessible and know how to use them.

Have a family fire escape plan—and practice it!
Stay alert. Stay prepared. Stay safe. A few minutes of prevention today can save lives tomorrow.

On behalf of the men and women of the Shaw Volunteer Fire Department , I would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out yesterday to show their support for our firefighters.

We are extremely grateful to be part of such a generous and supportive community. Your presence, encouragement, and continued support mean a great deal to each of us and to our families.

Serving this community is both an honor and a privilege. We do not take your trust or support for granted, and we are truly blessed to have a community that stands behind its firefighters.

Thank you for your continued support and for making yesterday such a meaningful day for the Shaw Volunteer Fire Department. We are proud to serve you.

Just as a reminder with the little rain we have received we are still Saline County is still under a Burn Ban. We would like to thank you for following this and not burning since this has been in place.
