👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻 This one was HARD to fit on just 10 slides, guys! I just love this part of fundraising so much that it killed me to leave anything out! 🤣
(I did have to, unfortunately, but these things are the most important!)
This is unrelated, but I recently had a new friend ask me why I give so much valuable info away for free on social media. 🤔
Honestly, it brings me a lot of joy to teach visually in this format! I also see it as an opportunity to help small nonprofits who will probably never sign up for coaching.
Trust me, there are SO MANY benefits to working 1:1 with me—and all the other amazing fundraising coaches out there—that I don’t have to worry AT ALL about giving my secrets away. 😉❤️
🔥 Okay, back to your year end fundraising message!
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a billion times—your fundraising shouldn’t be about you and your organization!
As you flip through these slides and read the examples, please take notice of how little we’re talking about the nonprofit who is sending this letter.
We’ve only mentioned them ONE TIME—and only in reference to where the donor’s gift will physically land.
On the flip side, we’ve mentioned the donor 7 times—8 if we include their name at the top. And I definitely do. 😉
Another thing you’ll notice is that there’s no long-winded introduction. We’re cutting right to the chase here!
Your donor is busy and may stop reading if you start your message with small talk. 😳
You can use this same fundraising ask across EVERY channel—direct mail, email, socials, website, etc.
AND a great year end fundraising message is built to last! Once you have your year end message down, you can use that exact message, in that exact format, year after year.
