Solar in West Virginia wouldn't be the thriving industry it is without these two men. We celebrate them this week as they reach an incredible milestone -- 17 years at the leading edge of mtvSolar -- the renewable energy successor of Mountain View Builders. Founder and visionary Mike McKechnie has advanced solar and renewable energy storage cross West Virginia -- not just as the owner of mtvSolar but as solar's strongest advocate in the mountains, in meeting rooms, in the halls of government. John "JB" Christensen has worked shoulder to shoulder with Mike to keep solar at the forefront of West Virginia's energy agenda, to protect our region's power customers and their wallets, to forge partnerships and building relationships that strengthen not just for our company but the entire renewable energy industry. Since 2009, Mike and John have led and supported countless workers, professionals and clients. We thank them for their passion and can't wait to see what fruits will come of their incredible work!

Our crews are doing their best to make Berkeley Springs the solar capital of West Virginia! This exciting project is a combination of donations, donated labor and expertise and grant-funded solar to equip the historic Ice House with sustainable energy for decades to come! We love supporting the work of the Morgan Arts Council at their HQ and honoring the memory of solar & art champions Gale & Gareth Foulds in the process.

Berkeley Springs might be the solar capital of West Virginia -- at least that's what we're aiming for! We love contributing to MORE SOLAR in our hometown, especially building out a legacy in the memory of solar champions Gale & Gareth Foulds to support the arts work going on at the Morgan Arts Council at their home, the historic Ice House! Thanks to Mark Winiarski for taking these rooftop photos to show the progress of our installation. A generous combination of donations, labor, expertise and grant funds are making this project a big win. 😎
