Early coordination is everything.

Aquatech Consultancy is currently engaged on a high-end residential project providing full building envelope consulting and construction phase oversight services. This project includes a two-story residence over a basement, a ground-level attached ADU, and approximately 11,000 SF of conditioned space.

We recently met on-site for a below-grade waterproofing preconstruction meeting to align on key details early. With features like a basement-level pool, roof decks over occupied areas, large window walls, and expansive patio door systems, getting ahead of waterproofing, transitions, and sequencing is critical.

These early conversations are where risk is reduced, details are clarified, and long-term performance is set in motion.

Aquatech Consultancy was out in beautiful Napa County last week supporting a winery project with on-site window testing and building envelope quality control.

Early-phase testing like this is critical, before finishes go in, so we can verify proper installation, identify any deficiencies, and ensure long-term performance of the building envelope.

In this case, we performed controlled water testing (ASTM E1105) at the window assemblies to evaluate:
• Installation integrity
• Flashing and integration with the WRB
• Resistance to water intrusion under simulated conditions

Catching issues at this stage helps avoid costly repairs down the line and gives the project team confidence that the envelope is performing as intended.

Always great working alongside teams that prioritize quality and performance from the start.
