If you have shelves full of books that you've already finished, we can help find them a second life.

Here’s how it works:

1. Sort through the books that you want to keep and donate
2. Arrange a free book pick up - we’ll swing by
3. Set them out on your porch and relax - we’ll handle the rest!

The books we collect support local nonprofits, teachers, and community literacy programs. To sustain the service, we sell a small portion of the books. Together, we’ve already helped thousands of books find new homes — and we’re just getting started.

5,000 more books found new homes this week!

Bel Aire Elementary, Reed Elementary, Del Mar Middle School cleared out their libraries, and we made sure every single book went somewhere it could still make an impact—donating them to COSAS, which supports schools and children in South Africa.

Downsizing? We offer free book pickup and more.

Over the past year, Golden Hour Books has grown thanks to this incredible community. If you haven’t heard of us yet:

We offer free porch pickup for books and now also help with responsible donation and hauling of other items — including furniture, clothes, electronics, and more.

We’ve now:
• Donated over 100,000 books to local nonprofits
• Helped nearly 1,000 households and businesses give their items a second life
• Expanded to keep even more usable items out of landfills

FREE Book Pickup! Together, we’ve donated over 10,000 Books!

Hi everyone, I’m Nate, a recent Berkeley High graduate, and I run Golden Hour Books—a book redistribution service. I pick up all types of books and donate them to local schools, libraries, and organizations that place books directly into the hands of children at no cost. Additionally, I sell a small portion of the books to cover the operation's costs, with a goal of recirculating 100% of the books in an eco-friendly way.
