Thank you just isn't enough in my mind. I've had the absolute honor to be around some amazing people. We've got guys that are brand new, and a few that have been doing it since before I've even been on the planet.

Day after day, night after night, they show up and show out. I watch them come in exhausted from full time jobs, and put just as much effort in on the training grounds. They don't shy away from community events, they create them. They're your neighbors, family, and friends.

Thank you for doing what you're doing. It's a thankless job most days, but that's not why you do it anyways. It's the blood, sweat, and tears when nobody is watching. It's being the community you want to have. Our strength is our community, our mission is to serve.

Chief Ryan Sedlock

Today is Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, and we're honoring the dedicated men and women who selflessly serve their communities.

Volunteer firefighters respond to emergencies at all hours, train year-round, and sacrifice time with their families to help others when they're needed most.

To every volunteer firefighter across the country: thank you for your courage, your commitment, and everything you do to keep your communities safe.

Tag a volunteer firefighter who deserves a shoutout. ❤️🚒

Last week we had the honor of giving two of our members their badges after successfully completing their first year at RTFD. Both received their EMT-B and are planning to attend our fire class this fall.
We are excited to see what the future holds as you serve our community. Welcome to the RTFD family! Derek Braithwaite Curtis Menke Richfield Township, Lucas County Ohio

We are a mixed department having 2 day staff members to cover from 8a-6p, but even then a volunteer is needed for the engine to leave during the day. Then your volunteers are answering the rest of the calls. The amount of volunteers in the township is dwindling. We need the communities support and people willing to give up their time to answer the call.

Last night your RTFD members practiced shuttling water, filling from the hydrant and pumping from the portable pond to feed the engine. We practice these methods since most of our township does not have water and we need to bring it with us. GIVING UP THEIR TIME TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE READY WHEN NEEDED FOR OUR COMMUNITY. Richfield Township, Lucas County Ohio

Notice road closures and keep your eyes open for people out as they participate this weekend.
