Two years ago, my life underwent a complete overhaul. In the matter of a few months, I sold my tiny solo home, started a new job, built a home, got married and became a stepmom to three flipping incredible kiddos.
As you can imagine, with all of that change came some serious growing pains. My priorities shifted and I made the decision to step back from my business. I just couldn't work a full-time job, navigate being a parent in a blended family and continue to be the business owner I had spent ten years working towards. Although it was a hard decision, it was the right one for me. I still took on new business, but I only took on gigs I knew I could manage.
Flash forward to now... I finally feel like I've found my groove. I am not sure I'll ever go back to the wedding photographer hustle, but I've found that I can take on family, baby, engagement and portrait photography without compromising my mental health, my marriage or time with my kids.
