Thousands of Granite Staters shared their experiences with us through this work, and one message came through loud and clear:
When you have reliable transportation, life is a lot easier. When you don’t, almost everything gets harder.
Transportation affects whether people can get to work, earn an income, buy groceries, make medical appointments, access services, participate in their communities, and simply manage everyday life.
We’re happy to share this important work. The data matters, but so do the voices behind it. Those voices make a strong case that transportation isn’t just about getting from one place to another. It’s about access, independence, opportunity, aging in place, and quality of life.
The New Hampshire Commission on Aging has released Getting There Together, the state’s largest study of community transportation. The report explains where older adults, veterans, and disabled adults are facing transportation challenges, including missed medical appointments, how confident older adults feel behind the wheel, and other key measures of transportation security.
