Solar panels, battery backup energy storage, EV charging, and energy load management. Serving Western MA, Southern VT, and Southwest NH.

Residential and Commercial. Current Energy was created by Chris Krezmien & Ryan Martin. Ryan has been immersed in the electrical trade for his entire professional career. He began working with his uncle E.W. when he was 16, became a master electrician at the age of 22, and started Current Electric in 2013. He is dedicated to his craft and providing clients with a professional experience. Chris has a background in building science and renewable energy technology. He worked on his first solar project in 2007 and began a transition from building construction to solar. Chris has significant experience in residential and commercial solar design and construction. He has specific expertise in the integration of renewable energy technologies into residential and commercial new construction projects. Ryan and Chris realized that the electrical and solar industries were becoming isolated from one another at the very time when they needed to integrate more fully. The rapid electrification of homes and businesses requires close collaboration between them. The goal of Current Energy is to bring the trades into harmony with the goal of building better projects.

When the heat spikes, your panels work hardest. ☀️

The Valley's heading into the low 90s this week, which means the AC is about to become the hardest-working thing in your house. Here's the part most people don't realize: your air conditioner runs hardest on exactly the hot, sunny afternoons when a solar array is producing the most.

So rather than buying your most expensive power right when you need the most of it, your own roof is covering it in real time. Add a battery and you can lean on stored solar into the pricier evening hours too. Cooling is the single biggest driver of a summer electric bill around here, and solar is how you take the sting out of it. Stay cool out there, Western Mass.

Our guys, hard at work. 👋

When you go solar with Current Energy, this is what you're getting: local people up on the roof, harnessed in, taking the time to do it right.

Every panel placed by hand, every job treated like it's the only one that matters.

Not a call center. Not a crew you'll never meet. Just skilled folks from right here in Western Mass who know these roofs, these summers, and how to get it done well.

Swipe through from bare rails to a clean, all-black finished array. The panels matter. The people putting them up matter just as much.

That's the difference between a company that sells solar and one that builds it. 🔧☀️

Battery storage is becoming one of the most exciting parts of residential solar.

Modern systems can help homeowners store energy for later use, reduce reliance on the grid, and provide backup power during outages and winter storms.

For many homeowners in New England, that added resilience is becoming just as important as the solar itself.

Solar panels may get most of the attention, but the inverter is one of the hardest-working parts of the system.

Equipment from companies like SolarEdge helps convert the energy generated on the roof into usable electricity for the home while monitoring system performance along the way.

It’s a critical part of making the entire system work efficiently.

Gas prices have a way of getting people thinking differently about transportation.

For homeowners considering an EV, adding a home charging station can make day-to-day driving simpler, more convenient, and much more affordable over time.

There are more options now than ever before, including systems from companies like Emporia and SPAN.

06/15/2026

If the electrical system in your home is the nervous system, the panel is where everything comes together.

Smart panels like SPAN give homeowners more visibility and control over how energy is being used throughout the house, especially when paired with solar and battery backup systems.

It’s one of those upgrades most people never think about until they see what modern energy management can actually do.

Rooftop solar works especially well across Western Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, and Southwest New Hampshire because so many homes already have rooflines with strong sun exposure.

Every installation is designed around the property itself, roof pitch, orientation, shading, electrical usage, and long-term goals all play a role in creating a system that performs well year after year.

06/11/2026

Battery backup systems are becoming a bigger part of the conversation across Western Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, and Southwest New Hampshire, and for good reason.

When paired with solar, systems like Franklin can help homeowners keep essential circuits running during outages while making better use of the energy they generate every day.

There are a lot of approaches depending on the home, energy goals, and existing setup. Some homeowners are focused on resilience during storms. Others are looking for more energy independence and long-term flexibility.
