Let’s talk about one of the most misunderstood grapes in wine…
🍇 Riesling
Most people assume it’s always sweet.
It’s not.
Riesling is actually one of the most versatile grapes in the world, ranging from bone dry to beautifully sweet depending on where it’s grown and how it’s made.
What makes it special:
• High acidity = crisp, refreshing, never flat
• Flavor range = citrus, green apple, peach, even a little petrol (sounds bad but trust me, it isn’t) is as it ages
• Pairs with everything from seafood to spicy food (one of the best food wines out there)
Regions to know:
Germany (the classic)
Alsace (more rounded, usually drier/less sweet)
Finger Lakes (more fruit driven but still has bright acidity)
If you’ve written off Riesling before… it might be time to revisit it.
There’s a style for everyone—maybe you just haven’t met the right one yet
