Man what a year 2021 was! We set some extremely high goals this past year, some that I knew we probably weren’t going to reach but with some help from a lot of people and some very fortunate weather the business dang near reached most of those goals. We set some new records in production and learned new things to make us more efficient!
The sawmill business has been doing a lot of upgrading this past year and we are looking forward to what 2022 will bring for it! The sawmill is a very interesting business to see all the pieces of the puzzle come together. It’s satisfying knowing I am in control of the full process of a tree from cutting it down to the finished product.
Being self employed has its fair share of pros and cons. It is frustrating and overwhelming at times. Sometimes you deal with things that just make you want to quit and go get a regular job. But when you look back on the year and you see a lot of positives and growth in your business it is the most rewarding feeling you can have in this world!
There is a huge list of people I need to thank for making 2021 a successful year! First off, thank you to the farmers without you there would be no business, thank you for trusting me with your land! Thank you to my workers and for showing up everyday with a positive attitude ready to work! Thank you to my truck haulers, when I call you are ready to haul! Thank you to all my log buyers and sawmills! Thank you to my family for giving me the opportunity to work when I need to and for doing so much for my little family! Thank you to all my friends for sending business my way, I appreciate you guys so much! Thank you to anyone and everyone that has helped me in anyway!
