Grounds 4 Compassion

Grounds 4 Compassion Here at Grounds 4 Compassion we believe that pouring into others not only builds the community around us but is at the core of who we are.

We value not only our faith but loving others right where they are. Who’s cup have you filled today? Grounds for Compassion was founded in 2011 through a vision God had given us to help change the way people think about helping people. We began this not just because of our love for coffee, but also for our love for our fellow man. At Grounds for Compassion we don’t just provide excellent coffee, w

e are helping to provide change in the regions around the world that bring us some of the best coffee. We do believe in Fair Trade, and buy our coffee with that conviction. However, we believe in not just buying the coffee from the farmer, but helping the community. We currently are working in Haiti developing new coffee fields and providing jobs, meals, homes, schools and churches. Our desire is to be a blessing to much more of the world than just Haiti. Through coffee, we can be the light to the world!

He is risen… and that changes everything.

Resurrection Sunday is a reminder that even in the darkest moments when hope feels lost and the waiting feels endless, God is still working. The cross looked like the end… but it was only the beginning.

If you’re walking through something heavy right now, hold on. God has a plan. Not just a distant plan, but a good, purposeful, redeeming one. Even when you can’t see it, even when it doesn’t make sense.

The same power that rolled the stone away is still at work in your life today.

So trust Him.
Trust Him in the waiting.
Trust Him in the unknown.
Trust Him in the dark.

Because Sunday is coming.

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.”

Many of you know Sarah. 🤍

She’s one of the smiling faces behind the counter at Grounds 4 Compassion. She’s the one who remembers your favorite coffee, asks about your family, and makes every person who walks through our doors feel truly seen.

Tomorrow, Sarah is undergoing brain surgery.

Our girl who pours into others so effortlessly now needs us to pour into her.

We are asking our entire community to cover her in prayer for steady hands for the surgeons, for complete healing, for peace that surpasses understanding, and for a smooth recovery.

Sarah will be out for the next six weeks as she rests and heals, but we fully expect to welcome her back behind the counter once she has recovered. We can’t wait for the day we see her smile in the shop again.

If Sarah has ever loved on you, encouraged you, or brightened your day, would you take a moment to lift her up? Drop a prayer, Scripture, or word of encouragement below so she can read them while she’s recovering.

She has poured into this community with compassion and joy. Now it’s our turn.

We believe in a God who still performs miracles.
We believe in healing.
We believe in standing together.

Sarah, we love you. We are covering you. And we are believing for a beautiful testimony on the other side of this.

Today we had the privilege of serving at Victims Of Impaired Drivers, Inc event at our State Capitol.

It was incredibly sobering to stand in a room filled with families carrying photos, memories, and stories of loved ones lost far too soon. Mothers. Fathers. Sons. Daughters. Friends. Empty chairs that should still be filled.

Behind every statistic is a name. A birthday. A laugh. A life that mattered.

To the families who live with this loss every single day… we see you. We honor your loved ones. We grieve with you. Your courage to show up and remember them publicly is powerful.

Let this be a reminder to all of us:

Please don’t drive impaired.
Not after “just one more.”
Not because it’s close to home.
Not because you think you’re fine.

One decision can change countless lives forever.

Today we celebrate something truly meaningful — a sober birthday for one of our incredible team members Jonathan Reynolds! 🎉

Recovery is courage. It’s commitment. It’s showing up every single day and choosing freedom. We are so proud to get to witness this journey and celebrate this milestone together.

A huge thank you to Katie Marie for surprising us with a delicious cookie cake to make the day extra special. 🍪🎂 It was the sweetest way to honor such a powerful accomplishment.

We believe in celebrating redemption, restoration, and new beginnings — because every sober day is worth celebrating. 💛

Drop some love and encouragement in the comments for this amazing milestone! 👇✨

As the bitter cold from this winter storm comes to an end, so do the motel rooms that provided temporary safety.

As individuals transitioned out of the motels, we worked to make sure no one left empty-handed. Every person we sponsored was provided with supplies to help them continue facing the winter conditions, including sleeping bags, wool socks, and mittens donated by Project Winter Watch, tents donated by :6 ministries , tarps donated by DaveandDesiree Burrow, and winter beanies, extra socks, and hand warmers donated by our incredible community. We truly could not have done this without each of you. Your generosity made a life-saving difference.

After the storm, Grounds 4 Compassion will be partnering with Jodi Berge with On Bended Knee to continue walking alongside some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

During the storm, we identified two vulnerable elderly men — one who has experienced sudden blindness, and another who is almost completely deaf and unable to read. These challenges make them extremely vulnerable and require additional support as they work toward a safe and stable future.

We also met a young man who is seeking to turn his life around. We believe in meeting people where they are and helping them build a foundation that leads toward healing, stability, and the purpose God has placed on their lives.

Together, we are continuing to support these three men with motel stays while helping them secure identification, medical care, and the resources needed to help them stand on their own feet again. They are taking important steps toward stability, including working toward housing and employment for the younger man.

To help them move forward, they are currently in need of:

🫕 Basic cookware
🥫 Groceries
(We need soft easy to eat foods for our blind gentleman, he can do frozen dinners easily)
🧼 Hygiene items

If you are able to donate any of these items, please bring them to:

The last week has been nonstop. We’ve been busy collecting winter gear and organizing items for ministries that are boots on the ground during this brutal weather.

This year has been especially meaningful for so many reasons. Two winters ago, we met Renee while she was on the streets and battling stage 4B ovarian cancer. We found her in January 2024 at one of the hardest points of her life. Since then, she has fought tirelessly, obtaining housing, becoming sober, and embracing life with a renewed and hopeful spirit.

Last Sunday, I had a full-circle moment when I picked her up for Church Under the Bridge. She read two of her favorite devotionals to me, and as she read Scripture aloud, my heart was overflowing with joy. It was one of those moments where the faithfulness of our Lord hits you like a ton of bricks. Surreal. Sacred. One I will remember forever.

As the storm approached, Renee told me she wanted to help. After hearing we had heaters that needed to be checked, she and her neighbor didn’t hesitate, they took an Uber to our shop and immediately jumped in, sorting donations and checking every heater to make sure they were in working order.

Her neighbor has also experienced homelessness and was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. Even in the middle of his own battle, he wanted to give back and help others stay warm through the storm.

Renee is still battling stage four cancer, yet her outlook on life is truly infectious. She is deeply grateful for every single day the Lord gives her, and together, their willingness to serve is a powerful reminder of what love in action truly looks like.

💙 THANK YOU, COMMUNITY 💙

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated items, shared posts, prayed, and shown up to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Your generosity is already making a real difference. It truly takes all of us to love our neighbors well. Thank you C&J Sporting Goods for all the amazing donations, Bethany Public Schools for the wonderful donation of coats and blankets. Thank you to Redstone Wealth Management for the gloves and socks! Thank you to Kim, Randy, Susan and Lane Decker and so many more. Thank you Morningstar Storage for helping us store all these amazing donations and facilitating a way to make this possible.

Thank you to all our volunteers today who helped organize supplies, we are so grateful for you all!

That said, we need to be very clear:

The next 9 days are projected to be brutal with extreme cold and dangerous conditions.
This is not a storm that can be safely weathered outdoors, even with tents and supplies.

We are strongly encouraging anyone still outside to seek indoor shelter during this time. Lives are at risk, and warmth saves lives.

If you know someone who is outdoors, please help us encourage them toward safe shelter options. If your church, organization, or business can help in any way, even short-term please reach out.

Thank you for standing in the gap and choosing compassion in action.
Please continue to share.

Did you know?
Most decaf coffee is made using chemical solvents…
but ours isn’t.

Our Swiss Water® Process Colombian Decaf uses only water, time, and temperature—no chemicals, no residue, no shortcuts.

And here’s the best part ☕👇
It’s so good we’ve had customers come in and ask:
“What caffeinated roasts do you have that taste just like your decaf?”

Yep. That good.
Full-bodied. Smooth. Flavor-forward.
Just without the caffeine jitters.

💛 Clean coffee you can feel good about
☕ Decaf done right
