GOOD MORNING AND TGIF! Today will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 80s. A few scattered showers or thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon, mainly after 2 PM, but much of the day should remain dry. Any lingering activity should fade Friday evening, followed by clearing skies and cooler overnight temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

The weekend looks fantastic across Connecticut. Saturday will feature plenty of sunshine, low humidity, and highs around 80 degrees. Sunday looks nice as well, with sunny skies and temperatures warming into the lower to mid-80s. The European model brings some showers and storms in late Sunday, but right now this doesn't have much support from other guidance.

Our weather pattern becomes more unsettled once again next week. Monday should still feature a decent amount of dry weather, but scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon and evening.

Rain chances increase Tuesday into Wednesday. Several rounds of showers will be possible, with thunderstorms potentially mixed in at times. Wednesday currently looks like the wettest day of the period, although confidence in the exact timing and coverage remains relatively low this far out.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING! We have already seen numerous downpours and storms through the area, with locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Additional periods of rain are expected, and could be heavy at times.

Conditions improve Monday night as a cold front pushes offshore, allowing much drier air to move into the region. Tuesday will be the nicest day of the week, featuring abundant sunshine, lower humidity, and comfortable temperatures with afternoon highs in the lower 80s. Wednesday also looks pleasant for much of the day, with a mix of sun and clouds and seasonable temperatures. A spotty afternoon shower cannot be ruled out, but most communities should remain dry.

The unsettled pattern returns for the second half of the week as heat and humidity gradually build once again. This is the same stalled frontal boundary that will push back into the region, providing us with even more opportunities for rainfall. Scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms become increasingly likely Thursday through Saturday, with highs generally in the lower to middle 80s.
