So I saw a commercial for Gemeni AI on the Olympics last night and it raised some questions with me.
The concept was a VO of some guy talking about how his daughter is a huge fan of sprinter Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and how she wanted to send her a fan letter. And to make sure it was JUST RIGHT, they used Gemeni AI.
So . . . you want to send a sincere, heart-felt, personal letter to someone and the best way to do it is to have a computer write it for you? Seriously? Is this what Google (which owns Gemeni) wants us to believe?
And this guy is so proud of his daughter but doesn’t seem to have an interest in her learning how to express herself – just how to log onto Gemeni and have a machine do it for her?
Written communication in this country is already going to hell. AI isn’t going to help. People should know (learn) how to express themselves.
Of course, I wonder if Gemeni wrote the spot or if a human being did.
