Econometrica’s Health Group Director, Dr. Jean O’Connor, explains the process of developing new, validated performance measures for the organ donation process.

Econometrica, in collaboration with 53 organ procurement organizations (OPOs) and the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), is developing eight new process and outcome measures, through a rigorous research and evaluation process. These measures are being proposed for endorsement through the Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) this year, with the goal of supporting continuous quality improvement and eventual adoption by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
