In a groundbreaking initiative to empower law students and lawyers in The Gambia, a new legal incubator has been launched, spearheaded by Fred Rooney, the pioneer of the first legal incubator in 2007, and our founder, Dr. Fatou Baldeh.
This innovative project aims to provide a supportive environment for young people in the legal profession, offering resources, mentorship, and training to help them succeed in their careers.
The incubator will focus on enhancing legal skills, fostering leadership, and promoting gender equality within the legal sector.
Fred Rooney, renowned for his work in establishing legal incubators worldwide, brings his expertise and vision to this initiative. “Our goal is to create a nurturing space where young lawyers can thrive and make significant contributions to the legal field,” said Rooney.
Dr. Fatou Baldeh, a prominent advocate for women’s rights and leadership, emphasized the importance of this project for The Gambia. “This incubator is a vital step towards empowering young lawyers, especially women, by providing them with the tools and support they need to lead and innovate,” she stated.
The legal incubator will offer a range of programs, including workshops, networking opportunities, and access to legal resources, all designed to equip women with the skills necessary to excel in their profession.
