Say hello to the newest member of the CMG Speaks family, Robert Krantz Robert Krantz ! 🎬

Robert spent decades in front of the camera and behind it, from Back to the Future to writing and directing his own award winning films Faith, Hope & Love and Marriage Made In Heaven Movie . When his wife became pregnant with their triplet boys, and they almost lost them, he stepped away from Hollywood for 16 years to be a present father and help raise their sons. Upon returning to making movies, he became the first person ever, in the 130 year history of motion pictures to write, produce, direct, dance, edit and star in a movie. His journey has been an incredible one. His movies and his speaking message now carry the same element: hope.

His Greek name, Haralambos, means “joyful light,” and anyone who has heard Robert speak will tell you it fits. We’re so glad to have him.

Motivation. Minutia. Mistakes. ✈️

Lt. Col. Katie Cook , the first female pilot in Blue Angels history, shared the three Ms of excellence with Seneca Valley School District as they kicked off the school year with the theme "Cleared for Takeoff."

Her reminder to educators was to lead with resilience and heart, and to see every mistake as a lesson.

The district's review says it all: "Not only did her message resonate with our staff, but many staff members believed she was the best speaker we have had.”

Looking back on summer, and one of our favorite moments ✈️☀️

In August, Captain Tammie Jo Shults gave the keynote at the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies annual event. She shared her journey from Navy fighter pilot to the captain who safely landed Southwest Flight 1380 in Philadelphia. The audience left reminded of what calm, courage and preparation can do when everything is on the line.

25 years ago, Heather "Lucky" Penney scrambled into an unarmed F-16 to intercept United Flight 93 — prepared to ram the airliner herself to stop it from reaching Washington, D.C.

The passengers of Flight 93 got there first.

Today, Heather carries that story forward as a keynote speaker and defense policy expert, honoring the heroism of that day and the everyday courage it still calls us to.

On this 25th anniversary, we remember. 🇺🇸

Happy Birthday to Katie Ann Cook! ✈️🎉

From graduating the U.S. Naval Academy to becoming the first female pilot to fly with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Katie has spent her career proving that the sky was never the limit. As a KC-130J "Fat Albert" Aircraft Commander with over 1,400 flight hours - 400 of them in combat - she led with courage on every mission. Today she's still leading, as a Senior Director at Salesforce, a devoted wife and mom of four, and one of the most inspiring voices on our CMG Speaks roster.

What does leadership look like when there is no perfect playbook?

That was one of the questions at the center of Heather Penney's conversation with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, Scouting America on April 28, 2026.

Drawing from her experiences in the military and public service, Heather shared lessons on preparation, accountability, teamwork, and making difficult decisions when the path forward is unclear. Her story is a reminder that leadership is often less about certainty and more about character - showing up, staying focused on the mission, and earning the trust of those around you.

For an audience dedicated to developing future leaders, her message resonated far beyond a single moment or profession. The principles she discussed, service, resilience, and responsibility, are as relevant in everyday life as they are in extraordinary circumstances.

Thank you to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council Scouting America for bringing together a meaningful conversation on leadership and service.

What an inspiring weekend at UCLA!

Jackie Joyner-Kersee took the stage to celebrate UCLA’s class of 2026 and share a message rooted in perseverance, purpose and believing in what’s possible.

Her journey has inspired millions, but what continues to make Jackie so special is her commitment to lifting others up and encouraging the next generation to dream bigger, work harder, and lead with heart.

Congratulations to all the graduates as they begin this exciting new chapter. We’re proud to see Jackie continue to make an impact both on and off the podium.

5 things you didn’t know about Al Joyner

1. He made history on the same day as his sister. On August 4, 1984, Al and his younger sister, Jackie Joyner-Kersee both won Olympic medals, making them the first brother and sister to achieve that feat at the same Games. One family, One afternoon. Two spots on the podium.
2. He broke an 80 year drought. His triple jump of 17.26 meters at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics earned him gold and made him the first American to win the event in 80 years.
3. He coached the fastest woman in history. Most people know Flo-Jo. Fewer know that Al was her coach when she became the first American woman sprinter to win four Olympic medals in a single Games, setting world records in the 100m and 200m at the 1988 Seoul Olympics - records that still stand today.
4. He helped build a dynasty at UCLA. After his competitive career, Al helped lead UCLA to its first-ever NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship and has mentored countless state champions and Paralympic stars.
5. He lives by a mantra that stops room cold. “Chumps complain. CHAMPIONS TRAIN. And you NEVER FAIL until you STOP TRYING.” That’s a life lived at the Olympic level, and what he brings to every stage he steps on.

Maj. Gen. Jeannie Leavitt (Ret.) became the first woman in U.S. Air Force history to qualify as a fighter pilot and never stopped breaking barriers from there. Today, she’s Dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and one of the incredible voices we’re proud to represent at CMG Speaks.
