Voters: Don’t be fooled - look beneath the Fascist Republican surface: you have not had it so good in a long time! ““Why are they dissatisfied? A recent article in the Economist found that how the public views the economy has changed since 2020.

Economic performance has been very strong recently, but Americans continue to say times are bad. Surveys about the economy found that Americans think the economy is worse now than it was during the stagflation of the early 1980s, the deep recession of 1990-91, the Great Recession of 2008, and more.

Although the precise cause of this difference between public perception and economic indicators isn’t clear, the breakdown of workplaces and a distrust of traditions and institutions — even in a period of low unemployment and strong growth — can all contribute to a strong feeling of insecurity and dread.

And there are a number of ways in which that poll struggles to pass the smell test. It shows 22% of Black voters backing Trump when he won 12% of that demographic in 2020, with that figure often below 10% for Republican presidential candidates. The poll shows voters under 30 preferring Biden by only one percentage point; Biden won that group by double digits three years ago.“

Despite criminal charges for Trump and a growing economy under Biden, voters have short memories. But polls are a snapshot of how things appear now, not a forecast of how they will appear on election day.

Spite DeWine: “Ohio voters WANT Ohio to be a pro-choice state. They do not support the antichoice movement much as DeWine wishes they would. So he lies to them. He pretends simply letting women keep control of their bodies is a far- out idea.

Ohio women were I you, I d be very offended right now. Do you know who DeWine says will have ultimate authority on whether you can get an abortion? Your doctor. ( and Ohio Republicans, of course).

Appearing on “Face the Nation,” DeWine said the viability of a fetus and the ability to have an abortion would be decided by — women’s doctors. “So that’s the person who’s going to determine — there’s no review of that,” DeWine said, referring to doctors.

And there are other dirty tricks going on. Ohio purged thousands of voters — over 25 thousand voters from the voting registry. There is much anti-abortion misinformation spreading like wildfire.

The Governor has done everything humanly possible to confuse Ohio voters and keep them from voting yes on this. He must be crestfallen that his attempts are not working. So don’t let them work on you, either. Citizens of Ohio, make sure to get out and vote on Tuesday. Your ability to make your own bodily decisions depends on it.”

During the Jewish High Holidays, the most holy time of year, former guy does this: “Trump’s attack on “liberal Jews” – by which he simply means “Jews” given that about 70% of American Jews vote Democrat – is horrific and deserves all the negative attention that it’s getting. Trump is a monster, and he’s willing to resort to increasingly evil rhetoric on his way down.

…there’s a reason why Trump is doing this, and it comes down to trying to distract us from what he’s notsaying. Last week Jack Smith filed for a gag order which would put Trump in line for pretrial penalties if he makes any more inappropriate remarks about the case. Trump initially responded by bashing Smith’s filing. But as we got into the weekend, Trump ceased his attacks on Jack Smith and Judge Chutkan entirely. Instead he attacked President Biden, those who have dared to question his supposed net worth, and – as we all saw – “liberal Jews.”

It further feels like Trump is launching these horrible attacks on Jewish people as a way of trying to keep anyone from noticing that he’s backed down from his attacks on Smith and Chutkan.

Even as we loudly condemn Trump for his evil attacks on Jewish people, let’s remember that he’s probably doing this to try to distract us from what he’s suddenly backing down on.”

“First, Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition government has proposed to overhaul the judiciary, a de facto elimination of judicial review of legislation; politicization of the judicial appointment process; cancellation of the High Court of Justice’s right to intervene in government decisions based on a so-called standard of extreme unreasonableness; politicization of ministerial legal counsels, career civil servants who provide an important check on government overreach; and a law whose immediate effect is to allow Arie Deri, the former health and interior minister, to serve as minister despite his criminal record.

In addition, the Knesset has already passed a law to cancel the prerogative, currently held by the High Court and the government legal counsel, to declare the prime minister unfit based on, for example, a felony conviction. Since our prime minister is currently on trial, the net effect is to place him above the law.”

Ron DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, have invoked liberal billionaire George Soros in their attacks on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trump claimed in a statement that Bragg was “hand-picked and funded by George Soros.”

Here are the facts.

Soros, a longtime supporter of Democratic campaigns, various liberal causes and prosecutors who favor criminal justice reform, has been a frequent target of antisemitic conspiracy theories painting the Jewish philanthropist as a puppetmaster behind various US and international events. Hypocritical, “Fiscally Responsible” Republicans lie: “you still have to pay your credit card bill for money you already spent. The time to cut spending is when you’re spending. The second problem is that the gambit isn’t really about spending… But in every year of Trump’s presidency, Republicans approved trillion-dollar-plus omnibus spending bills. And that’s excluding all that lavish COVID spending. He paid for the MAGA agenda with America’s credit card.

It’s almost like these new deficit hawks aren’t opposed to racking up debt, they just want to be the ones doing it.

According to Mulvaney, the Freedom Caucus abandoned fiscal conservatism because with Trump in office “the Freedom Caucus sort of moved to front and center on Fox News” and “they realized that there’s a lot more energy behind being nutjobs than there is being reasonable.”

In other words, when being fiscally conservative is rebellious and disruptive, they’ll strap on their green eyeshades. But when one of their leaders is in power, out comes the credit card.”

The House Republicans aren't new deficit hawks. They aren’t opposed to racking up debt; they just want to be the ones doing it.
