The fine silver category, in this weekend’s upcoming auction, presents extraordinary museum-quality works, led by Lot #49, a Georg Jensen sterling center bowl from a La Jolla, California collection weighing approximately 33.6 troy ounces and estimated at $6,500–$9,500. Sourced from a prominent New York estate comes Lot #537, a striking Tiffany & Co. sterling repoussé champagne bucket weighing 56.1 troy ounces and estimated at $4,000–$6,000. The piece bears the influence of Edward C. Moore, the visionary head of Tiffany’s silver studio during the late 19th century. Moore was instrumental in establishing Tiffany & Co. as a world-class silver house, leading the company to international acclaim at the 1878 Paris Exposition. Under his direction, Tiffany pioneered elaborate repoussé techniques and innovative naturalistic motifs, making pieces from his era among the most sought-after by American silver collectors today. Joining the silver highlights is Lot #539, an exquisite pair of George III English sterling covered serving dishes hallmarked for Abraham Portal (1808–1809), estimated at $1,800–$2,200.
