When Cummings Properties acquired the defunct former United Shoe Machinery HQ in 1996, the office park was home to more pigeons than people, with just a handful of tenants remaining on site. The restoration of the 2M SF site was one of the world's largest industrial plant recycling projects, with an initial $80M investment & approximately 32 acres of interior space completely restored.

Now transformed into the award-winning Cummings Center “live, work, play” mixed-use development, the property is a major MetroNorth landmark with a more than 90% occupancy rate. It is not only our largest campus but also the most complex to renovate and operate. Many long-tenured employees count this massive rehabilitation as their greatest source of workplace pride.

Work on the Brimbal Avenue and Dunham Road roundabout begins next week, kicking off an approximately 18-month project designed to improve safety, traffic flow and ease of travel through the intersection. Most work this year will take place off the roadway, with traffic maintained.
