Mill Studio Arts offers weekly 90 minute art lessons to capture the creative genius of the growing mind. Our ages 6-12 programs are conveniently timed for after school fun and get kids exploring hands-on in a true studio environment with our team of talented artist-educators. It’s the time of day your kids will look forward to every week!

Welcome Ava!

We are thrilled to announce that we are welcoming Ava Bajakian onto the MSA team as our new lead drawing teacher! Ava’s diverse set of drawing skills include illustration, abstract drawing and observational study. She will support our young artists in all their favorite ways to draw and challenge them to take risks and explore new ways of working. Ava’s tangible love of art is inspiring and a true gift to bring to the MSA community.

Ava will be teaching:
Drawing Skills 1: ages 8-12, Tuesdays 3:30-5:00 and
Drawing Slills 2: ages 13-17, Tuesdays 5:00-6:30
A few spots are still available in each class.

I am such a book nerd, and proud of it🤓 Give me a physical book over a website any day! I am a tactile learner and love to go back, re-read, scribble in the margins and hold on to good books like precious treasure. I literally drag most of these books around with me back and forth from the studio on a regular basis. These books are beat up, dog-eared, highlighted and loved dearly. Some provide me practical lesson strategy, others (most) inspire and articulate the purpose of teaching that I identify with and structure the studio around. These are books that I honestly can’t live without and highly recommend to anyone in art education.

Did you know that MSA offers weekly after school programs in drawing, ceramics and Open Studio specifically designed for teens!

Our teen programs challenge students and build real skills in art making while respecting and supporting individual vision and style. Lessons are a chance for teens to join a diverse and inspiring friend group that comes together every week to grow as artists.

Teen programs run in eight week long quarters, culminating in a student art show to showcase finished work.

Teen programs are also a great way for kids looking to attend art school after high school to get support on their acceptance portfolio.

Registration is open NOW for quart one starting September 14th!
