The last two days I’ve been pretty short on personal time but I made it a priority to do something rather than nothing. It’s hard for me not to go all out with my training but I’m getting better about prioritizing easier days, active recovery, and shorter sessions. Consistency is key. So the next time you don’t think you have enough time to workout, opt for doing SOMETHING rather than nothing. That could be as simple as a walk around the block, some stretching, or body weight movements. Training doesn’t always have to be optimal to start. As Nike would say, just do it.

Wednesday night interval class at the group crushed it tonight! I’m so grateful to have a space and community to connect with.

Before class today I volunteered at Biddeford middle school to assist the gym teacher on educating students on the importance of staying healthy and taking care of your body. We introduced them to basic human movement patterns(squat, hinge, push, pull, cardiorespiratory endurance) it was fun to work with a different population and I’m thankful for the opportunity.

I’m so freaking passionate about movement, exercise science, and healthful sustainable living and I will take any chance to be able to share that with others and hopefully give other people a taste of why I love this stuff so freaking much.
Thanks everybody 💜

Had a nice day at the track. Some full body strength, some lateral and transverse plane work and some carries to finish things off. I’ve been feeling kinda off the past few days so glad I got out and got it done. Now off to Montana to put this strength to use hiking Glacier National Park! I’ll be back in a week for your regularly scheduled programming 😝😎

Monday nights workout and dinner. I had taken 2 days off so it felt good getting back into it again. I’m feeling stronger and more capable everyday.
A couple things: if you’re time crunched, opt for full body movements or lower body dominant exercises. Find squat, hinge, push, pull movements that work for your body and your ability, and hammer those home. Don’t make things more complicated than they need to be. For me I don’t barbell back squat very often because my proportions make full ROM more difficult than a frontside loaded variation. Renegade rows look badass. I wish everyone a wonderful week, and if you want to find movements that work for you, want help with programming, or have any questions, shoot me a DM

Back at it after my rest day yesterday. I have a really hard time taking days off but I know they are extremely important. I tell my clients how important rest and recovery are, so I’m trying to take my own advice. I was in the mood for some deadlifts so got in some volume and heavy sets of touch and go deadlifts. Went fairly easy on my legs given I’m still sore from belt squats on Monday. Good amount of upper push/pull to finish off the day. Descending sets like what you see at the end of my notes is a great way to get volume in when you are tired because mentally it gets easier as you go along. Finishing off my lift with a sauna and then teaching my weekly interval training class at tonight at 4:45!

My last 3 days of training. Had an awesome partner workout with and on Thursday, had a bit of an off day personally on Friday but still got some solid work in, I live hitting the bad to mix things up, get a sweat on and feel like a badass. Today was a nasal only breathing easy trail run in my new lone peaks, with a breakout set of hill sprints about 3/4 of the way through the run to spice things up. Trying to keep it consistent with just a bit of intensity sprinkled in everyday. It all adds up. Consistency is key.

A little Monday movement. After a creative day on Saturday, and a rest day yesterday I wanted to get back into the gym for some more “traditional” lifting. I’ve been loving the belt squats lately mainly for the overload I can get and the ease on the joints. Rear foot elevated split squats never get any easier 🧐 and remember to keep tension in the band the entire time when doing banded pallof presses. That’s all folks. Happy Monday.
