The apron has been passed.

More than 30 years after helping build a nationally recognized culinary program at Lebanon County Career & Technology Center, Chef Brian Peffley and Chef Robert Corle returned to see something remarkable: two former students leading the classrooms they once called their own.

Chef Katie Bomberger and Chef Louis Manza are now preparing the next generation of culinary professionals, carrying forward the same values of professionalism, accountability, respect, and excellence that helped launch their own careers.

Their story is a powerful reminder that the impact of CTE extends far beyond technical skills. It creates mentors, opens doors, and builds lasting relationships that continue to influence lives for generations.

Earlier this month, we joined educators from across the country at the Association for Career and Technical Education Region II Conference in Lexington, Kentucky, exploring new ideas and strategies to help learners succeed in the classroom, earn credentials, and prepare for future careers.

At the conference, our team shared two presentations:
