Thank you all who have brought in plastic for this project over the past few months! Unfortunately I will need to bring the cans in and shut down for awhile. I had an accident in the shop and will need to recover as well as figure out how to prevent future incidents. I am okay but will need some healing time before resuming this project. Thank you again for all your support. I will post an update when we can resume collection again.

We had a small win in the shop today. The injection mould machine has been out of commission until the temperatures warm up. in the meantime I have been experimenting with silicone moulds in an oven. I finally got a decent one to turn out! It’s still a work in progress but hopefully I can get more of the magnets made soon. Stay tuned!

These old busted water jugs are are to get cleaned and the go through the grinder.

I have made an oversight. I discovered that despite grocery bags being #2 they do not process well in these machines because of the small scale. Many stores in the area do recycle these so I will make sure any that have have been dropped off get redirected there. Going forward though I can only accept hard plastics of the #2 and #5 categories.

Bottles like this won’t have a recycle ♻️ on the bottom because of the silicone stopper in the lid. I was able to easily pull that out and recycle the bottle in my machines. This is an example of a unlabeled #2 plastic.

Lids with metal in them would not be accepted in a traditional recycling setting. Don’t throw these out though, bring them to me and I can break out the metal center. The blue ring is still useful material!

Just received word that the plastic shredder and injection machine are done being built. They will ship shortly!!!! It won’t be long before we are turning trash into treasure.
