👎🏼 I once had a successful local business owner (twice my age) start completely false rumors about my training facility. All of it shockingly started right after I refused to sell her my businesses and work for her.
👍🏼 That’s when I really learned about insecurity. She was seemingly much more successful, yet still threatened by me.. so I took it as a compliment.
👎🏼 I’ve taught people, given them large platforms to speak on, and handed them opportunities of a lifetime. In return, some have lied to me, began to take I said in the worst possible light, plotted my downfall behind my back, stonewalled me, twisted my words, launched slander campaigns, called me a horrible person, literally stole from me, and copied nearly every detail of my business model.
👍🏼 That’s when I began to deeply understand projection. By their own math, if I’m the villain.. their balance sheet went straight to hell lollll
👎🏼 I once had to cut ties with someone I was close with because I refused to gift them 50% of my company. That’s when I went from friend to villain in their eyes and they promptly aligned with someone who had already intentionally tried to harm me. Setting out to cause as much damage as possible.
👍🏼 Thats when it was reinforced to me.. it’s much better to feel alone than be mixed in with the wrong crowd. Truly- Thank GOD that’s not my group of people.
👎🏼 I once had a suuuper interesting character secretly approach me and offer a lowball price to purchase my company in order to “help me” because they were going to take my employees and open up the same business down the road.
👍🏼 Thats when had to express empathy for others who are easily manipulated. In the wise words of mommy Swift 🎶I can see the pattern, I know how this ends🎶
So.
The real cost of doing business isn’t just money, time, or stress.
It’s the emotional tax of learning who people really are under stress and who you have to cut loose on your way to the summit.
Maybe it’s the Scorpio in me..
but I’m very aware of the mentorship these people are STILL continuing to get from me
by reading this post
& that alone makes the hard times worth it.
