A traveling OB at Intermountain Health was quoted on Saturday saying this, ”You don’t come to the hospital to have a vaginal delivery, you come to the hospital to have a healthy baby.”

As doulas, most of us are very familiar with the ARRIVE Study. In fact, many of us have found it difficult to support clients desiring a natural birth since the ARRIVE study was published. Anecdotally, many of us felt induction of labor increases risk of c-section. However, it was difficult to navigate our anecdotal experience with the study.

Well, a new retrospective cohort study published in the journal Birth: Issues in Perinatal Care found a correlation between an induction of labor and increased risk of c-section birth.

Twins! These placentas and amniotic sacks were technically separate, but in the 2nd slide, the video shows there was 1 big sack encompassing both babies and placentas with a dividing membrane down the center. Placentas and how babies develop will never cease to amaze me. 🤍🤍

🤍A full weekend followed by the body’s own support system for hormone recovery went home to my sweet clients this week.

This is not taboo or fringe anymore. Not just for the crunchy-minded either. When done safely(like I do) it can be an essential tool for helping Moms stabilize hormones after delivery. Lots of babies coming in June, call or text to get on my schedule!
