Good morning!!!

This morning I want to say thank you for all the support that has been shown to my little venture here. I am truly grateful and appreciative for all of it.

One thing to always remember when you are in business for yourself is the why. Why did you start this project? Did it grow from a hobby? Did you find a need to fill for others? Were you tired of the 9 to 5?

My Why is that I wanted to help other business owners. I have always heard how hard it is to balance the growth of your business and all the paperwork that goes with it. I have seen so many drowning in the paperwork or ignoring it to the point that it is hazardous to the success of the business.

Words to live by for sure. Complications are usually a series of simplicities all rolled into one.
How does this apply to business?
Well one thing that I have learned is that the simpler you keep the process the better. Buy something, get a receipt, give receipt to bookkeeper. Pretty simple right?
Many many business owners see bookkeeping and record keeping as this hugely stressful and tedious thing. Really it is built on simple steps that will provide security and peace of mind in the long run.

You have two choices...
Do it right or suffer the consequences.
My granddad used this to make me think every chance he got :-) He was teaching me to think. How do I do it right? What are the possible consequences of this choice or course of action?
He NEVER specified what type of consequences.
- Don't keep all your receipts = missing transactions not recorded
- Missing transactions = Inaccurate numbers on the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement
- Inaccuracy on Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement = Over or under payment on taxes
- Inaccurate taxes = Trouble with the IRS that can cost you your business and soooo much more.
Point is without accurate records and bookkeeping you could be endangering your business and so much more. That extra effort will cover your back every time.

GOOD AFTERNOON!!!

It has been a few since I last posted. Today's topic is about finding the right bookkeeper to work with. I bet you are asking why I would talk about this. Well, here is the skinny.
We all know that different personalities jive and others do not. Most of the time people talk about how alpha personalities do not usually mesh well with other alpha personalities.
One thing that I have learned over the years is that COMMUNICATION is essential! Yes, I know you have heard all this sooooo many times before. My twist on it comes from one of my heroes that I have the privilige to call my granddad.
He always said that you have three components to communication. Sender, receiver, and message. If the sender and receiver do not have the same key code they will not get the same message.
So, today I say always make sure that you and your bookkeeper always have the same key code and can communicate well. This simple idea will eventually save you and others a lot of headaches. :-)

GOOD MORNING!!!
This morning has already been interesting and eventful 😂 A small wire on a switch in my pickup caused it to not start. I tightened the connection and walla it started. It got me thinking of how one small thing can cause so much inconvenience and trouble.
Accuracy, detail orientation, and organization is important when handling any recordkeeping for any business. One slight mistake can cause trouble with the IRS or state and local taxes, trouble with customers, and miscommunication within your organization. This trouble can waste time while it is being fixed, cause the loss of revenue through the loss of a customer or customers, and miscommunication in your organization is nothing short of catastrophe in the making.
Avoiding all these possible issues is really quite simple and straight forward. Talk to us and we can help you through it all.

A thought for today about Do or Die...

Do or die... That truly is the question. Sometimes you choose to either do whatever it is that you dream of or die. Whether its 30 secs later or 30 years later; when you give up on your dreams and what makes you happy you die a little inside. So the choice is always ours. You want that career... Do it! You want that man or woman... Go for it! You want that house... Build it! Fight whatever demons you need to fight. Win the war and LIVE!!!!

When you work on yourself you will find that although it may be tough and some days just too much it is also the most rewarding project you will ever work on. Like Rocky says, it ain't how hard you can hit; its how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward!!!! NEVER FORGET TO GET UP!

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE!!!
Today's installment of bookkeeping wisdom is all about the importance of ACCURACY.
Accuracy is the name of the game in any record keeping and bookkeeping system. Accuracy covers you and your business both from sooo many different perspectives. We will only scratch the surface of the iceberg that is the importance of accuracy.
Have you ever had someone give you directions somewhere then as you are driving along you feel real fuzzy cause you are not familiar with where you are going? Well, the road called business ownership can be much the same. You are mostly traveling a road that can be very foggy and make you unsure of where you are going. The day to day drudgery can fog your mind and drag doubts in to plague you as you navigate the variety of decisions you face from day to day.
You drive this road like many others and then you see the landmarks someone was telling you about and you have that 'AHA' moment. Everything becomes clearer and you have a renewed sense of purpose. Same thing happens when you have accurate records to run the reports that will give you the black and white information to show you what you need to do and where you need to go with your business.
Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy... every transaction, every time, and in the proper classification. No matter what. Personally, I would rather take the few extra minutes, double check my work, and make sure it is right the first time then have any inaccuracy.
Hopefully this has been informative and interesting. Once you, as a business owner, know the reasons behind the need for accuracy in your record keeping and bookkeeping, beyond the thought of just someone being nit-picky, you are more inclined to be aware and organized in your daily transactions. This awareness and organization will be so much more beneficial in the long run.
