✨Here’s the 10-minute version you can do yourself before you DM anyone:

👉🏻Open Google Ads. Go to the Keywords tab.
Set the date range to “All time.” Sort by Cost, highest first. Look down the Conversions column. Any keyword with significant spend and zero conversions across all time is a dead keyword. Pause it.

That’s the work. That’s what most agencies won’t do because pausing keywords shrinks the budget and shrinks their fee. So the dead keywords stay live and the contractor keeps paying.

I’m not bigger than the agencies. I’m just willing to look.

If you want a second set of eyes, DM me
AUDIT and I’ll spend 20 minutes inside your Google Ads, your website, and your Google Business Profile. I’ll send you a 1-page PDF of what I see.

You’re paying for 65 fake leads a year. You just don’t know it yet.

126 leads came through HMW Services last year — my husband’s junk removal company in Billings. 65 were spam. 51 turned into paid jobs. The spam got caught because every source gets tracked and every outcome gets logged, so junk sources get paused instead of funded.

Most contractor accounts I audit run blind.
The agency reports the headline number and never tells you how much of it was real.

Save this. Next time your agency sends you a lead count, ask them how many became jobs.

Most contractor accounts I audit have broken conversion tracking. 💀

❌ The tag is installed on the wrong page.

❌ The form is misconfigured.

❌ The phone number click event was never set up.

So Google reports zero, the agency says “increase the budget,” and the contractor pays more for ads that were already working.

👉 built my agency for contractors because nobody else would. My husband owns a junk removal company in Billings. Every system I sell was built for him first.

DM me AUDIT and I’ll spend 20 minutes looking at your Google Ads, your website, and your Google Business Profile. I’ll send you a 1-page PDF of what I see. No call required, no pitch.

This isn’t about pretty photography. Job-site shots from your phone work. Before and afters work. Crew on the truck works. The point is that Google sees your profile as alive — and ranks it accordingly.

Add five photos this week. Takes ten minutes from the truck.

Save this. Send it to the contractor in your life who needs to see it.

Most marketing agencies will tell you the same thing when results are slow: “you need to increase your ad spend.”

It’s almost never the right answer.

Here’s what’s actually happening when an agency pushes for higher budgets:

1. They make 10-20% on ad spend. Higher budget = higher fee. Their incentive is misaligned with yours from the moment you sign.

2. They’ve maxed out the basic optimizations. Tightening keywords, fixing landing pages, improving tracking, and pruning waste is harder work than “let’s just spend more.” Increasing budget is the lazy answer.

3. They don’t actually know what’s broken. When agencies can’t diagnose the real problem, “spend more” is what they say to buy themselves more time.

The right move when results are slow:

– Audit your conversion tracking first. Is everything actually firing?

– Review your search terms report. Are you bidding on buyer language or research keywords?

– Look at your landing pages. Do they match the ad?

– Check your Quality Scores. Anything under 5 in a high-spend ad group is bleeding money.

Fix those, and you’ll often get more leads from the same budget. Sometimes from a smaller budget.

Don’t let anyone tell you to spend more until they’ve proven they fixed everything else first.

Save this. Send it to the contractor who just got told to “increase their ad spend by 50%.”

Why your contractor website converts under 1%.

Someone searches “kitchen remodel contractor Salem.” Your ad shows up. They click. They land on your homepage that lists eight services — kitchen, bath, decks, fencing, additions, garages, sheds, and “other.”

They wanted a kitchen contractor.

You gave them a menu.

They leave. You paid for that click. Your ad budget just got smaller and your conversion rate just got worse.

Every paid ad needs its own dedicated landing page.
One service. One offer. One headline. One phone number. One form.

No nav menu. No “about us.” No portfolio sliders. No social proof from your fence work when the visitor came for a kitchen.

If your agency is running ads to your homepage, they aren’t running ads. They’re spending your money.
Save this. Open your Google Ads. Check where your ads point. If they go to your homepage, that’s the first fix.

Happy Mother’s Day. 🌄

This one is personal.

406 Lead Systems started because I watched my husband pour everything he had into building something from nothing — and I wanted to make sure it didn’t slip away. That’s what moms do. We notice. We show up. We hold things together quietly, without being asked.

To every mom out there doing the same — whether it’s for your family, your business, your community, or all three — we see you today.

Happy Mother’s Day. You deserve every bit of it. ❤️

You’re not crazy. It’s almost certainly broken.

Here’s what I see constantly auditing contractor accounts:

You spend $1,500/mo on Google Ads. Your agency sends a report that says “clicks up 12%.” You have no idea what that means. You can’t tell which clicks turned into jobs. You can’t tell if the leads you booked last month came from the ads, from Google Maps, from a yard sign, or from your cousin Steve.

That’s not a you problem. That’s a tracking problem.
Most contractor accounts I audit have conversion tracking set up wrong — or not set up at all. Which means they’re paying Google to send them traffic without ever knowing what that traffic does next.

Until you can see exactly which keyword booked which job for how much money — you’re not running

Google Ads. You’re donating to Google.

Save this.

Next time your agency sends you a report full of clicks and impressions, you’ll know what to actually ask for instead.

I didn’t start 406 to build a big agency.

I started it because I watched my husband Ryan run his demo company and lose work to guys with worse trucks and louder marketing.

Contractors are the people who actually build the thing. They show up, do the work, deliver - and then half of them lose sleep over where the next job is coming from.

That’s the part I want to fix. Not “scale a marketing empire.” Not “10x your revenue.” Just - your phone rings on Monday because the system I built for you is doing its job in the background while you’re on a job site doing yours.

That’s it. That’s the whole mission.

Sat at a table Tuesday night with a room full of Billings business owners. Different industries, different stages, different problems.

Walked out with one thought: nobody actually has it figured out. Everyone is making it up as they go.

The polished LinkedIn posts, the “7-figure” Instagram captions, the people who look like they have systems for everything — they’re winging it too. They’re just better at pretending they’re not.

If you’re a contractor running a business and feeling like you should already have the marketing thing dialed in by now — you don’t. Nobody does. You learn by doing the thing badly until you do it well.

That’s literally what 406 is. I’m building it in public, fixing my own broken tracking codes, and figuring it out as I go. The contractors I work with do the same thing on their job sites every day.

That’s the whole game.
