My AMAZING Husband surprised me yesterday with a trip to 3 wonderful yarn stores for Valentines Day! He truly knows the way to a knitters heart is through yarn! I was told to be ready to leave early and be gone all day. I was shocked when we pulled up to in Tivoli, NY where I picked up some beautiful Silk Dream and 100 Colors Cowl Kit. Then we traveled to in Saugerties, NY where I was thrilled to see Issue 8 proudly displayed! There I picked up one of my favorite yarns, in the aptly name Yarn Husband colorway and new Swivel Cords that I have been dying to try ever since and talked about them on their podcast, Yarniacs. We finished the day at also in Saugerties where Tina was kind enough to open her shop for us and drooled over beautiful roving fiber. I found some EcoDuo that is so soft and cozy and Summer Linen. We then had a fabulous dinner and headed home. It was a great day and the most thoughtful gift he could have given me. He has truly earned the name.

My husband surprised me with this amazing antique Lane Cedar chest. I had seen it at an antique store, but didnt have the room for it in my car. I spent the next week kicking myself for not buying it. When I made it back to the store, it was gone! He had bought it the day after I saw it! Since we moved into our new house & got dogs that love yarn (to chew of course), my yarn storage has been less that ideal. This is much bigger than my other cedar chest. Now I have 1 chest for my "in-season" sweaters, 1 for my yarn, and another for my tools!

I voted today wearing my Herrington Hat by the amazing Jodi Brown from Nomadic Knits Issue 4! This hat is such an addictive knit! This one is in Audine Wools Sigh DK in Ladybug. But it also works up great in fi*****ng held with mohair! (Second pic, in Long Dog Yarn's Luxe Fi*****ng in Through the Woods and Mohair Lace in Olive You, Too) I'm planning to knit one more in a DK alpaca!

It's finished!!! Now I just need to get it upstairs! I wish I had before pictures to share! This dresser was purchased at an auction years ago and was made by the Showers Brothers Company. The laminate was peeling off and chipping and it had been discolored and damaged from having a fish tank on it for many years. Most of the drawers were very hard to open so it was impractical for everyday use. When we moved, it was almost discarded. But inspiration struck and I decided to try my hand at refininshing & antiquing it. It came out better than I dreamed it would! I learned a lot and with some TLC, elbow grease and paint I already had on hand, it has been transformed!

Almost done with antiquing an old dresser. Put the last coat of polyurethane on today! All I have left is to wax the rails and drawers and put on the new drawer pulls. I think I may be addicted to refinishing furniture. Next on my queue is stripping and refininshing a cedar chest my dad gave me and refininshing the dining room table.

Finished my from issue 7. I've had the yarn picked out for these since we started testing this design. It was a really quick knit that produces a cozy mitt. And it fits perfectly over my wrist braces, so I can still be stylish while supporting my wrist!

Treasure Hunt tank by is now LIVE at .ravelry !! This adorable tank is knit in Aran weight cotton. I used Sirdar Cotton Rich Aran with just 437 yards! It's knit separate from the top down in squishy garter stitch (no purl sts) with eyelet detailing. I chose to make mine a cropped length. It looks equally good alone or over a short sleeved shirt. was great to work with on the test knit and I look forward to seeing her future designs!

My tired eyes won! I'm reaching that age where I know I probably need glasses. Shhhh, I even use "cheaters" at times. And, I love my little laptop, but sometimes it's just not practical...like when you've got 9 windows open that you're flipping between or trying to split screen on a 13" screen. So I broke down and got a 24" monitor! I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner! Tech Editing my latest project is so much easier with more screen room!

Earlier this week we had 1 cold day, and I capitalized on it to wear my Sipila and getting a couple of pics. The last picture shows a typical knitters reaction when a dog tries to jump on your knitting. She went from fast asleep to jumping on me in under 30 seconds! Usually I wear an undershirt and put my sweater on once I'm walking out the door and take it off as soon as I get home.

My Ranunculus is coming along nicely. I'm making mine with Malabrigo Silkpaca held double. This was one of my first purchases at Glitter Ninja! I have looked for the perfect project for a long time and I'm loving this choice! This yellow makes me so happy and Ranunculus is a fun knit!

My new work space! I've been having some wrist pain, which is not fun when you are a knitter! It finally dawned on me that my holding my laptop on my lap is not helping! So, this is my new "summer desk". I can rest the board on the arms of the chair and it's a perfect height!
