If you reside in the Birch River area, please be advised that there was a police chase that ended in the Birch River area up RT 82 and driver is now on foot and possibly armed and dangerous. Someone said they were advised to remain inside the home with doors locked and secured.

UPDATE: All schools will be serving hamburgers for lunch tomorrow. If there is school on Friday, all schools will serve spaghetti for lunch.

Due to the forecast of an early snow tomorrow, Thursday, January 6, 2022, Nicholas County Schools will dismiss 3 hours early. ALL extracurricular activities will be canceled for tomorrow January 6, 2022.
