The Birmingham Business Alliance recently welcomed 18 students from the Mississippi State University Promise Program for a day of networking, career exploration, and meaningful conversations with business leaders from across the Birmingham region. During their visit, students connected with Ryan Graham, Founder and Owner of Ramlea Partners ; Terrance Moultrie, Sales Manager for Alabama Power; Jordan Baxter, Business Banking Regional Sales Leader for PNC; and Anirudh Aditya, MSU alum and founder of MoonBase.

Through authentic discussions and Q&A sessions, students gained valuable perspectives on leadership, professional growth, and what makes Birmingham a dynamic place to live, work, and build a career. The event reflects the BBA's ongoing commitment to connecting emerging talent with leaders in our region and showcasing the many opportunities that exist within the Birmingham region.

It was a great way to end the week. Go Bulldogs and Hail State!

Entertainment and tourism are more than bringing visitors to a region – they are powerful drivers of economic growth and long-term investment. At the Central Alabama Economic Development Summit happening Oct. 15, the breakout session "Tourism as an Economic Development Engine: Where Visitor Experience Meets Economic Development” will explore how major events, entertainment infrastructure, hospitality, and visitor spending can create broader economic opportunities for communities.

Presented by The BJCC, the session will feature Tad Snider, Executive Director & CEO of The BJCC; Robert Simon, President of Corporate Realty Associates; and David Galbaugh, Vice President of Sports Sales & Marketing of INBirmingham. The session will be moderated by Othell Phillips, Executive Director of the Jefferson County Economic and Industrial Development Authority.

The conversation will also look at the collaboration required among tourism organizations, local governments, chambers and the business community to turn visitor activity into lasting economic impact.
