Email to State Senator Tim Melson, State Senator David Session and House Rep. Danny Crawford:
Senator Melson,
I hope you are well, and I can't begin to imagine the amount of stress that you must be experiencing knowing that three years ago today, May 6, 2021, SB46 passed the Alabama Legislature. Unfortunately, the sick, suffering and dying citizens of Alabama still do not have access to "legal medical Cannabis" in Alabama. It's heartbreaking for those of us who have fought valiantly for the citizens to have access. Three years is a very long time for our citizens to wait and with the lack of progress at this point, it may be another year before product would be made available. I often wonder how many Alabamians have died unnecessarily because they didn't have access.
We have three remaining "working days" left in this session and we are cautiously optimistic that the quagmire of licensing applicants will be resolved before the end of session. The Alabama Cannabis Coalition continues to keep Alabamians up to date on the latest "news and updates" regarding medical Cannabis in Alabama. The Alabama Cannabis Coalition continues to support "Free Markets".
I pray for your health and hope that this "issue" is resolved in this 2024 Legislative Session. Thank you for your continued support of the citizens of Alabama.
Sincerely,
H Marty Schelper
