James 1:23-25 "Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it, not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do."

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Isaiah 30:21 "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

The quote for today is from legendary NFL football coach Vince Lombardi who died of cancer many years ago. “Winners never quit and quitters never win.”

One of my friends and I had a conversation about our chats with God. We all go through challenging times, my most challenging time was when my mom died and I was embarking on the journey through breast cancer. Right now my friend is going through a challenging time. Everyone's challenges are different but the answer is always the same: Trust God. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

The journey we embark upon may not always be the one we envisioned, and it may be fraught with challenges and uncertainties. However, His grace is always there to guide us through every trial. We must trust in Him to lead us in the right direction, even when the path seems obscured by dark clouds. Psalm 25:10 "All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant."

The Lord knows that only by communing with Him and obeying His commandment to "love as I have loved," will He be able to pour His streams of living water through us and equip us to be channels of comfort and refreshment to all those with whom we come in contact. Luke 15:3-6 "Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’"

Today's prayer: Lead me Lord in the path of Your choosing. Your love and faithfulness are without measure. Thank You, Father, that You are a faithful God and that You are the One who leads and guides... and You are the One Who corrects and trains - so shepherd me along the path of Your choosing. I trust You to lead me along the path of righteousness all the days of my life. I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN.

Those who are going through challenges remember “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

May your day be blessed today and every day my friends.

2 Timothy 1:7 "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

1 Corinthians 1:3-9 "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

Today's quote is from Bob Dylan, "Oh, time is short and the days are sweet and passion rules the arrow that flies."

Yesterday was our Fall BEAR Bash (Open House). Our vendors and our customers came out to support our Shoppe, and our hearts are full of appreciation for the love and support from our community. Before the day started, our vendors stood together and prayed to bless the day and all with whom we came in contact. We had additional opportunities to pray for friends going through challenges or health issues. Some of our friends are going through health issues and other adversities, and as a community, we pray for each other. When going through challenging times, we can rely on God’s strength. We do not have to face trials on our own. When we turn to Christ, He will give us the strength to do well. Ultimately, our purpose on this Earth is to glorify God. I completely believe in prayer, reading, and studying God's Word. Romans 8:26-28 "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

Being rooted in God’s nourishing Word allows us to flourish and yield fruit. To receive God’s nourishment, we must make God’s Word an essential part of our lives. In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches us how to pray through The Lord's Prayer. Matthew 6:9-13 “This, then, is how you should pray:" 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’" The Lord's Prayer is the perfect prayer. Even if we feel like we have moved far from God, it's never too late to return.

Our time on Earth is short, and our days are sweet. Let's continue to send our prayers like arrows throughout the day. God knows our hearts, and our prayers are like arrows that pierce His heart when they come from ours. We can begin today by praying as Jesus taught us: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name..."

Thank you again to all who support our Shoppe!

1 John 4:16 "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them."

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Isaiah 46:4 "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

Today's quote is by Billy Graham: If Christianity is valid, why is there so much evil in the world? To this the famous preacher replied, "With so much soap, why are there so many dirty people in the world? Christianity, like soap, must be personally applied if it is to make a difference in our lives."

As most of you know, the stories I share come from my week in review. This week, I found myself missing my mom, as I know my dad does too. Dad and I are taking a financial course together and enjoying the time we spend together learning. I think back to the childhood lessons I learned from my mom. I know it's a little early to talk about Christmas songs, but do you remember the Christmas song about Santa Claus coming to town? The song goes, "He’s making a list, and checking it twice. Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice..." Have you ever thought about the possibility that you might be on God's naughty list? There are things we say or do that do not glorify God. If God had a naughty list, then we would all be on it! Thank God that is not the case! John 1:17 says that Jesus came by “grace and truth.” John 1:17 "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." Truth is on the side of grace, not on the side of the law, performance, or works. You cannot earn Grace, it is an undeserved favor!

As Romans 4:4 says, “Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation.” To earn the reward is the opposite of grace. The reward must be received unconditionally. Romans 4:6 "David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works." This scripture teaches us that God attributes "righteousness" to our account without any requirement of works or good deeds on our part. We should strive to be "good" as defined by God in His Word out of our love for our Heavenly Father, our desire not to sin against Him, and because He has commanded us to be perfect as He is. Matthew 5:48 "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

That person can only be Jesus Christ, the God-man, a descendant of Adam and our relative. 1 Corinthians 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." Jesus stepped into history, lived a perfect life, and died on the Cross, taking our penalty of death for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Now He offers the gift of eternal life and freedom from slavery to sin to all who will put their faith and trust in Him. Romans 10:9 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." And this has nothing to do with what we do but has everything to do with God’s mercy for us.

Ephesians 2:8–9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." The way we naturally think about this is different from the way God works. The greatest gift of all, salvation through Jesus Christ, is given to us purely out of God’s amazing grace, and it is not something we deserve. In Christ, there is no "naughty" or "nice" list, and what we receive from Him is not earned or deserved. Under the covenant of grace, there is only grace for everyone at all times, not condemnation. As believers, we are all considered righteous. We have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus and His finished work at Calvary. So, there are no more lists, just grace. Believe in Him and freely receive God's grace. That’s our "soap." Let's use it!

Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Psalm 95:6-7 "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice..."

Today's quote is by Mother Teresa: “Never be so busy as not to think of others.”

This week has been quite busy for me. Justin's mom had surgery on Monday, so he's been off to help her. Consequently, I'm struggling to find time for rest. I'm behind on my Bible studies, working on an upcoming estate sale, and preparing for our Fall Open House. Additionally, I'm taking a financial course with my 80-year-old Dad. Despite the busyness, I am not complaining; my life is blessed. Ephesians 2:8: "For by grace you have been saved through faith."

No matter how hectic life gets, I prioritize beginning and ending each day with prayer, as well as offering prayers in between. Even brief prayers are meaningful to God, and He listens to them all. 1 John 5:14-15 - "And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him."

Today's prayer:

Glory to the Father, who created me in the image and likeness of God.
Glory to the Son, who through His death and resurrection opened the way to heaven.
Glory to the Holy Spirit, who blesses me with new mercies every day.
Glory to the Holy Trinity, who blesses me with those gifts.

I bring my intentions before You now, Lord. Thank You, Lord. Your work is perfect and Your ways are just. You are a God of faithfulness in all things at all times. You supply everything I need.

May Your love be the passion in my heart.
May Your joy be my strength when times are tough.
May Your presence be my peace that overflows. AMEN

I pray that everyone who reads this is blessed beyond measure and feels Jesus' loving presence! I pray that whatever adversities you face, you remember we are all heirs of salvation, the purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood! As Billy Graham said, "... the thing that kept Christ on that cross was love, not the nail." Psalm 23:5-6 "...my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Psalm 5:11 "But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you."

Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.”

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Psalm 91:2 "I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Today’s quote is: “Illness can be a reminder of our mortality and the importance of living each day with purpose and gratitude.” – Unknown

Many memories came flooding back this week as I found out one of my dear friends was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The diagnosis of cancer is a hard pill to swallow, we take for granted our health when it is good. It's hard to prepare ourselves for what our bodies will face with treatment as everyone is different. Exodus 33:14 'The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”'

You have heard the biblical story of Joseph. He was most beloved by his father, Jacob. Jealousy from his half-brothers caused them to do a despicable deed. Joseph's dream, which he shared with them, had his brothers bowing down to him, and their father saw it as God’s prophecy for the family. Driven by envy, the brothers sold Joseph to traveling merchants, making their father believe Joseph was dead.

Joseph's misfortunes continued in Egypt as he was imprisoned because of a false accusation. Nonetheless, Joseph used God's gifts to help the Pharaoh lead the people during a famine. In return, Joseph received his greatest blessings, an admirable job, a family, and, most importantly, reconciliation and reunion with his brothers and father. Genesis 45:7-8 "God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God."

Even during our greatest struggles, God has plans for us. Just like with Joseph, God's favors return to us in places and ways we cannot imagine as long as we remain faithful to Him. In our Christian walk, our old life is left behind. We become new creatures in Christ and obtain blessings of God that are out of this world. We are promised an inheritance, we are blessed with spiritual blessings, and we are promised eternal life in Jesus Christ. 1 John 2:25 "And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life."

Psalm 91:1 "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." As Billy Graham said: "Don't let circumstances distress you. Rather, look for the will of God for your life to be revealed in and through those circumstances." Like Joseph, I was not immune from struggles, but I found peace in my journey through cancer because I dwelled in the shelter of the Almighty. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Most of us are afraid to step out by faith and put everything into His Mighty hands. When we step out by faith, we depend on Him alone, trusting God fully. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths..." is another way of saying do not walk by sight. Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." We must not allow our natural senses to limit us, but instead, live each day with purpose and gratitude.

Philippians 3:14 "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Isaiah 26:4 " Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal."

Today's quote is by Watchman Nee "The Christian experience, from start to finish, is a journey of faith."

Misfortunes, adversities, and illness highlight our weaknesses and push us to depend on God in ways we wouldn't otherwise. They force us to confront problems and pressures that are too big for us to handle on our own. In these moments, we turn to God for wisdom, follow His guidance, and trust Him to support us as we pursue our goals, tasks, and relationships. Amid trials, Christ invites us to (Matthew 11:28-30) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Currently, we are working on a living estate. For us these are usually the hardest jobs we encounter, helping people downsize. You see what people have collected throughout the years living in the same home for decades. Then they come to a point in their lives where they have to downsize due to their health or the death of a spouse. Much of their treasured collections get put up for sale, pictures, and memorabilia get sorted out in hopes that their children or grandchildren will take these treasures and pass them down to the next generation.

It's a hard process for our clients, it's not only our job to make it easier on them and help sort through what needs to go and what will be useful in their transition to a smaller home. During the process of downsizing, we also take the time to talk to our clients, reflect on their lives, and hear their stories. Helping people and talking to people has brought great joy but also we feel the sadness our client feels. It's amazing to think about how short life is and how quickly it passes us by. Psalm 90:12 "So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom."

When we share our trials and victories with others, it not only lifts each other up but also allows us to learn from one another. In times of adversity, we receive God's comfort, which in turn enables us to share that comforting support with others. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ." As Michael Youssef said "Whenever God calls us to a task, He will equip us and enable us to complete that task."

Psalm 103:13 "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;"

Another beautiful day the Lord had made.

Ephesians 6:4 "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

Today's quote is by Umberto Eco: “I believe that what we become depends on what our fathers teach us at odd moments, when they aren't trying to teach us. We are formed by little scraps of wisdom.”

Father’s Day is a special day to reflect on the role fathers play in our lives. The Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32 serves as a powerful reminder of a father’s love. The story tells of a son who leaves his father’s house, wastes his inheritance, and becomes a servant in a distant land. Far from home, he eventually decides to return, hoping for mercy from his father. When he arrives, his father welcomes him back with open arms and forgives him. This story reminds us of the unconditional love and forgiveness that fathers can show their children, as well as their ability to teach about grace and redemption. On this Father’s Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the fathers in our lives and how they have shaped us. Just as our earthly fathers love us unconditionally, God, our perfect Father, also forgives us when we make mistakes.

I still look up to my Dad as he looks up to the Lord. He instilled in us a firm foundation. 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The LORD knows those who are his..." Dad taught us that Jesus is our firm foundation! Jesus is our rock! When we build our foundation on the truth of Jesus and who He is, then we are on unshakable ground. When the storms of life rage all around us we will not fall. And he taught us that all things are possible with God! Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus beheld them, and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." I cannot say life is tough or easy, but I can say my life is blessed! God has never forsaken me, He has never left my side! I was blessed throughout my life, even through cancer. God's hands were in every step of my journey. Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

I honor my Dad today as he honors the Lord! Thank you, Dad, for teaching us even in those odd moments when we didn't understand the lessons yet. Happy Father's Day to my Dad and all Dads!

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 1:2
