Becky is now offering Therapeutic Breast Massage in Lactation! Becky specializes in this gentle technique meant to get circulation and blood flow back to the area, provide gentle movement and relief from plugged ducts, engorgement, mastitis and general breast discomfort while lactating.

A remembrance Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Kagan on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome to attend, especially parents, grandparents and siblings who grieve the loss of a child resulting from miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion or early infant death. October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, and Oct. 15 is designated nationally as pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day.

For every baby gone much too soon, for every family carrying a loss, and for every story that deserves to be remembered. 🤍
This month is a reminder that we remember with you.

This month & always, I remember my sister, Jessie Lenore, who was born sleeping on November 27, 2002.

Perinatal mental health can be so much more than postpartum depression or baby blues. She is passionate about supporting mothers with postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, psychosis, bipolar disorder, etc) in addition to maternal rage, identity challenges, and many of the unexpected transitions into parenthood.

Courtney is excited to continue sharing space for the honest, messy, beautiful, and often unspoken parts of motherhood and helping parents feel supported in this season of life.

👅Same family. Two different palates. What changed?
Sometimes, the best way to understand the impact of oral function is to look at siblings.

In this family, the older sibling did not have a tongue-tie release. Over time, her palate developed narrower and higher than the younger sibling. The younger sibling received a tongue-tie release as an infant. Her palate is now noticeably wider and more spacious.

Why does this matter? 👇

The tongue plays an important role in the development and shaping of the palate. When the tongue is able to rest properly against the palate and function through a full range of motion, it can provide important stimulation and pressure to the developing upper jaw.

🦷 A tongue tie isn't just about breastfeeding or speech.
Oral function, tongue posture, airway, swallowing, dental development, and facial growth is interconnected.

Every child is different, and palate shape is influenced by many factors — but comparing siblings can sometimes provide a fascinating look at how differences in oral function may relate to differences in development.

✨ The goal isn't simply to "release a tie." The goal is to improve function.
