In the last year, we were thrilled to put on 4 foraging workshops that celebrated the beauty and bounty of the land around us; from edibles to baskets to cordials, we covered a lot of information! Along the way, Em Shawish, teacher of the fall and spring edible workshops, has been documenting each event to compile into a zine (a short booklet), available now on our website (liveworkeatgrow.org/resources) for free and in print for a suggested $10 donation.

We will be celebrating the zine's release at our August garden potluck on Thursday 8/27, from 6-8pm at the Hale Community Garden (215 Maywood St, Blacksburg). We would love to see you there to give you a copy! Bring a dish to share if you can, as well as any friends and family. We're looking forward to concluding our beautiful year of workshops together.

Homestead swaps are gatherings of like-minded folks who trade homegrown, home-raised and/or homemade items with the goals of sharing abundance, establishing mutually-beneficial trading relationships, fostering community, and reducing waste.

Who should come?
You should! All are welcome: Farmers, homesteaders, home growers, community growers, makers, bakers, etc. Just curious? Come observe. No need to bring anything.
What can I swap?

Produce, herbs, flowers, garden starts, houseplants, milk, honey, eggs, meat, cheese, homebrew, fire cider, elderberry syrup, pesto, preserves, bread/baked goods, hot sauce, tea, home/body products, etc. Be creative!
