Here’s a wall and yard makeover we just wrapped up!

This home had a large failing deck, an uneven yard, and a concrete patio area that flooded every time it rained. We installed a Rosetta Kodah retaining wall, then regraded and leveled the entire area in front of it to improve drainage and make the yard much more usable.

We moved approximately 3 dump truck loads of dirt and reused it at the back of the property to build an additional driveway. A new culvert was installed, followed by a base of #3 gravel and finished with #57 stone.

We also cleaned up and burned several brush piles from fallen trees, hauled off a dump trailer load of things, added gravel behind the guest house where the ground had stayed muddy and unusable, and finished in front of the wall with good topsoil mixed with mushroom compost, seed, and straw for a fresh new lawn.

A lot of moving pieces on this one, but the end result is better drainage, more usable space, an additional driveway, and a much cleaner property overall. Wall itself would have been done in two days but we had to consider the long term results for this one.

Here’s a “little” fencing project we were given on the family farm. Only another 1,000 feet to go!

Here are a few projects from last week that we are finally getting around to posting.

#1 this customer wanted to eliminate this extra parking area and have more of a landscaped yard area in front of his home. We excavated 2’-3’ of gravel and brought in two loads of dirt and compost. We also buried some underground gutter extensions. We will be back when it cools down to install plants.

#2 Small garden wall out of Belgard Toccoa for some wonderful repeat customers. We also brought in some gravel to freshen up the road in front of the walls and steps we installed last time we were there.

#3 Small garden wall and driveway edging for a customer who had a rotting railroad tie wall. He didn’t want to lose his azaleas and we needed backfill room so we brought the driveway in a couple of feet. Rosetta Kodah southwest.

Today we installed a walkway for some repeat customers that we are particularly fond of. Since they wanted to keep it straight and boring 😜, we were able to knock it out pretty quickly, then bring in fresh mulch to top everything off.

Today we extended a small garden wall we built a few months ago, installed landscape fabric over the drain and gravel, then leveled out some compost for some creeping Jenny and phlox to drape over the face of the blocks.

Yesterday and today we knocked out this small landscaping job for a nice couple. We originally quoted this project back in March and told them we couldn’t do the job until June. They didn’t want to wait and hired someone else but said they never showed up to do the project. They even had to have the 27 pallets of material moved twice to appease the HOA. They reached out to see if we could put them on the schedule and since they already had most of the materials on site we were able to squeeze them in between jobs. Always happy to add appreciative customers to our portfolio. We will be back in the fall to install plants but they will mulch for now.
