Here’s a wall and yard makeover we just wrapped up!
This home had a large failing deck, an uneven yard, and a concrete patio area that flooded every time it rained. We installed a Rosetta Kodah retaining wall, then regraded and leveled the entire area in front of it to improve drainage and make the yard much more usable.
We moved approximately 3 dump truck loads of dirt and reused it at the back of the property to build an additional driveway. A new culvert was installed, followed by a base of #3 gravel and finished with #57 stone.
We also cleaned up and burned several brush piles from fallen trees, hauled off a dump trailer load of things, added gravel behind the guest house where the ground had stayed muddy and unusable, and finished in front of the wall with good topsoil mixed with mushroom compost, seed, and straw for a fresh new lawn.
A lot of moving pieces on this one, but the end result is better drainage, more usable space, an additional driveway, and a much cleaner property overall. Wall itself would have been done in two days but we had to consider the long term results for this one.
