Broke out the grafting equipment today, and we're learning how to graft queens. Grafting is done to genetically engineer the best bees you can. You get your toughest queen, that's laying the toughest eggs, to lay more queen eggs. It's like your speeding up natural selection.

After our first beekeeping season things are going great! We started to harvest a small amount of honey, which is considerably good factoring in how late in the season we started this. We've been constantly checking up on the bees every other Saturday and the bees are just now starting to emerge from their winter cluster to start to explore! Wish us luck on our first official FULL season!!
