Scholarship opportunities for students in our community.

The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) is accepting scholarship applications. Applications are due by February 15, 2027, and require partnership with a member of NTCA - The Rural Broadband Association. Awards ranging from $1,000 to $9,000 are available.

We were glad to welcome Representative Austin Harris to our Bloomfield office yesterday! Thank you for your support of rural broadband. Our neighbors in southern Iowa deserve reliable, high-speed internet, and we're committed to delivering it.

I had a great meeting yesterday with Citizens Mutual in Bloomfield.

We discussed their $50 million expansion into Van Buren, Wapello, and Monroe counties — more fiber in the ground and real opportunity for families, farms, and small businesses across southern Iowa.

Rural communities deserve the same reliable high-speed internet as anywhere else. It makes me proud to see a local small-town cooperative investing in our neighbors.

🎉 We are excited to announce that, as of September 1st, we have officially completed the acquisition of Van Buren Telephone Company (VBT)!

This milestone brings together two locally owned telecommunications providers with a shared commitment to serving and investing in the communities of southeast Iowa. Together, CMTech and VBT now serve nearly 6,100 residential and business customers across approximately 1,365 square miles.

We’re proud to welcome VBT’s employees and customers to the CMTech family and look forward to building on VBT’s strong fiber network and long history of local service.

For VBT customers, it’s business as usual for now. There are no immediate changes to service, rates, billing, or local contacts. Customers will continue working with the same local employees and can continue contacting the Keosauqua office as they have in the past.

As we move forward, our goal is simple: preserve local service and local ownership while creating greater opportunities to invest in our network, our employees, and the communities we call home.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and grateful to everyone who has helped make this next chapter possible.
