We’re back in the shop! 🦌

It’s not often we step away during hunting season, but sometimes you have to make time to be the hunter instead of the taxidermist.

We had an incredible hunting trip and made some great memories, but we’re glad to be home and ready to get back to work!

Here’s to a great season! 🍂🦌

Some hunts fill the freezer. Others become stories your family tells for generations. 🦌

Indiana Youth Deer Season is September 26–27. To every parent, grandparent and mentor taking a young hunter into the woods: slow down, enjoy the experience and celebrate the day—whether a tag gets filled or not.

To help preserve these special memories, Huntsman Taxidermy offers $650 whitetail shoulder mounts for youth hunters ages 17 and younger.

Unsure how to prepare the deer for a mount? Leave it intact and give us a call—we’ll cape it for free!

Who took you on your first deer hunt? Tell us about it or share a favorite photo in the comments.

The new season is almost upon us, so here’s a reminder on how to cape your deer.

Early season heat can ruin a deer cape fast. Proper care starts the moment your deer is recovered! 🦌

• Cool the deer as quickly as possible
• Never cut the throat
• Avoid dragging it across the shoulders
• Leave plenty of cape. When in doubt, leave extra
• Keep the cape sealed away from melted ice and water
• Bring it to us promptly, or bag it securely and freeze it

Not sure how to cape your deer? Leave it intact and give us a call. We’ll cape it for free. We’d much rather help than see a cape get damaged!
