𝐌𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝,

As we head into 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟒, I want to speak to you honestly and directly.

Over the last two years, our taxes have gone up while 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭. Families across Bloomfield are feeling the impact of higher taxes, and too many are being priced out of their homes.

The town’s audit, which was due in 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, is still not complete. 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐲’𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, warning us about serious financial mismanagement. If things do not change, it would be no surprise if 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 & 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐫’𝐬 takes the same action.

These are not just numbers. They have real consequences for every one of us — 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 for the services we depend on. This is what happens when leadership lacks accountability and financial discipline.

Bloomfield deserves better. We deserve leadership that understands our finances, communicates clearly, and makes responsible decisions with the public’s trust at heart.

Building a Stronger Bloomfield — Together

The most important responsibility of a Town Councilor is managing the budget — ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely and that residents can have confidence in how their money is managed.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability
As a finance professional, I understand that responsible budgeting and transparent oversight are the foundation of good government. My focus will be on:

• Ensuring our Finance Department has the staff and tools needed to complete audits on time.
• Using modern systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Exploring zero-based budgeting and reviewing the Salary and Job Matrix to identify savings, eliminate waste, and streamline operations.
Grow Small Businesses and Revitalize Bloomfield
A strong local economy starts with supporting our entrepreneurs and revitalizing key areas of town. I will advocate for:

• Real incentives that help local entrepreneurs fill empty storefronts — including the Wintonbury Mall.
• Mixed-use development that brings housing, retail, and community spaces together to create vibrant, walkable neighborhoods.
Build Trust in Town Government
Trust begins with transparency. I will work to:

• Provide clear, accessible financial reporting so residents can easily see where funds are going.
• Host regular community forums where residents can ask questions, share ideas, and help shape local priorities.
Accountability should never be optional — it’s the foundation of good government. This isn’t about partisanship; it’s about restoring fiscal discipline, transparency, and public trust.

Moving Bloomfield Forward
Bloomfield deserves leadership that listens, acts with integrity, and puts the town’s long-term stability first. With strong ideas, persistence, and collaboration, we can restore both fiscal strength and public confidence.

𝐀 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐬 (𝐁𝐲 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞-𝐈𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧, 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝐂):

Bloomfield is a community full of heart, talent, and pride. Everywhere I go, from our soccer fields to the senior center to the coffee shops where neighbors gather, I meet people who love this town deeply but want to see it reach its full potential. I share that same hope.

If elected, my promise is simple: to listen, to lead with integrity, and to bring people together no matter which row or party they belong to. We have spent too long divided. It is time to move forward as one Bloomfield, focused on progress, respect, and results.

Here is how I plan to do that:
• 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭: Within my first 60 days I will send a brief community survey so residents can share directly what matters most, whether it is roads, taxes, safety, youth programs, or housing.

• 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞: I will hold monthly Coffee and Conversation sessions, casual gatherings where residents can meet face to face with me, ask questions, and share ideas.

• 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: I will work with all members of the Council, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, on common sense solutions. We may not always agree, but we can always respect one another and get things done.

• 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Town decisions and spending updates should be easy for everyone to access and understand. I will advocate for clearer communication, more frequent updates, and genuine public input.

• 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭: Every decision I make will be guided by honesty, fairness, and service to the people. My goal is not to win arguments, but to earn your confidence and deliver results that make life better for everyone in Bloomfield.

This election is not about personalities or politics. It is about the kind of community we want for our families and the legacy we build for the next generation. Bloomfield deserves leadership that listens, includes, and acts.

𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬.

I hear from homeowners every week who are worried about how they will afford to stay here. When the Grand List went up by more than 30 percent, the Council only lowered the mill rate by 3 percent. That is why so many people are seeing huge increases in their property taxes, and it will keep getting worse if we do not take action now.

I cannot change the state revaluation that has already been done, but I can change how our town manages your money. My focus is simple. Bring spending under control, cut waste, and lower the mill rate responsibly. Every dollar saved should go back to taxpayers, not to special interests or unnecessary projects.

We can grow our tax base by getting real development at Wintonbury Mall, Copaco, and across our business corridors so that homeowners are not carrying the entire burden. And for our seniors and working families, I will fight to expand local tax relief programs so people are not forced out of the homes they have worked their whole lives for.

Bloomfield does not have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. I will work to fix it and deliver the tax relief our residents deserve.
