The cost of doing nothing is higher than the cost of solving the problem.

When child care isn't available:
• Employers struggle to hire.
• Families leave the workforce.
• Communities lose opportunities for growth.

The challenge isn't identifying the problem.

The challenge is taking action.

If your community is ready to move beyond discussions and start creating real outcomes, let's talk.

Business of Child Care helps communities develop practical solutions that expand child care capacity and support workforce growth.

Your community can't grow if families can't find child care.

It's that simple!

Communities across the country are investing in child care infrastructure because workforce development, housing growth, and business expansion all depend on it. Child care is increasingly being recognized as essential economic infrastructure, not just a family issue.

The question isn't whether your community has a child care challenge.

The question is what you're going to do about it.

If you're ready to stop admiring the problem and start creating real outcomes, let's talk.

Business of Child Care helps communities move from discussion to action.

When child care is missing, the local economy feels it.

Yesterday, May 26, Business of Child Care joined Dakota Resources’ statewide Coffee Break to talk with economic development leaders across South Dakota about child care as workforce infrastructure.

Jeff Andrews shared practical ways communities can move from concern to action by identifying the real child care gap, right-sizing local solutions, building workable business models, and engaging employers as part of the solution.

Thank you to Dakota Resources and Paula Jensen for creating space for this important conversation and for supporting the rural leaders working every day to strengthen their communities.

Stronger child care. Stronger workforce. Stronger Main Street.

Last week, Jeff Andrews, President of Business of Child Care, was in Marshall, Minnesota, presenting to local workforce leaders, employers, and community partners about opportunities to support and sustain the child care supply in the region.

“This meeting highlighted just how important child care is to the strength and growth of our local workforce and community. We had a great turnout from our local employers, and the level of engagement and interaction in the room was extremely encouraging. Employers were eager to learn more about the current child care challenges, share what they are seeing within their own businesses, and discuss potential solutions the City is exploring to help address this critical issue.”
— Lauren Deutz, Economic Development Director, City of Marshall, MN

Thank you to the City of Marshall and everyone who participated in this important discussion around building sustainable child care solutions for the future.

Five years ago, we began with one core belief:
Child care challenges cannot be solved alone.

That belief became our Whole Community Approach, bringing together employers, government, education, advocates, and communities to create stronger outcomes for families and providers.
