What do your practice sessions look like? There isn’t really a right or wrong way to practice, because everyone is different and what works for me might not work for you.
I have adopted a quality over quantity approach to my archery practice. With a busy schedule, I don’t have the time (or don’t devote the time) that I used to. So I am trying to shoot at least 4 times a week, if not every day. My practice sessions are only 9-12 arrows, (3-4 three shot groups). With that being said, I am fortunate enough to be able to step out my front door and shoot out to 50 yards, so the vast majority of my practicing is at 50 yards. I’m a firm believer in practicing at longer distances, because it makes the more common hunting distances feel much easier.
Below are a few groups from today’s practice session. I shot 2 ok-ish groups, and one really solid group at 50 yards. What you aren’t seeing is my 4th group where I completely lost my mind! I was punching the trigger, not following through, and suffering from target panic! That’s one thing I love about archery, it can be just as much mental as it is physical.
