How can you scale word-of-mouth marketing?
For all the successful work I've done in the world of affiliate marketing the last 18 years (both as an affiliate and as a partnership leader), natural word-of-mouth and on-page social proof remain the most effective marketing channel for brands, consultants, coaches, and service providers.
Scaling natural word-of-mouth relies on 3 things.
1) Delivering a great product or service that people want to talk about.
If people aren't getting results, then you'll have a very difficult time growing. On the flip-side, top customers will want to introduce your company to others.
2) You need to ask for people's testimonials and case studies. Yes, it would be nice if people just did it without you asking, but people need a nudge or two to provide that social proof. Include those requests in key parts of your customer marketing, automating it where you can within your emails and product delivery pages.
3) You need to show off your testimonials and case studies. Even more important - show them off in the right places within your marketing. Weave testimonials into your website. Include them on your order page. Use specific, objection-handling testimonials in a blog post that deals with your product/service's benefits.
