I am very delighted to be here and thankful for so many kind followers! Our original goal was to share the history of men who knit over quite a long period of time and to show guys from all over the world, guys from different cultures, guys of all ages, guys of all tastes and guys of every lifestyle to help to make the world aware that there are so many of us involved with knitting and crocheting everywhere! I am delighted to find examples of creations that are out there whether they are old, new, classic or modern and share them with you all! So much is available out there now compared to the time when I first experienced knitting with my mother in the early 1960's then made it my own thing during the early 1980's but the Internet did not exist back then and you were limited to books, patterns and magazines being sold in stores and now we have a huge amount available to us online! continue to Part 2 below!

Part 2 -
SO, our goals are still the same but we will be expanding to include patterns that I have designed. Having worked with some sweater designers in New York City and then getting a degree in Menswear Design and Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology I continued to pursue this for quite a number of years and came up with my own way of designing proper fitting knitted garments and also went in some other directions in recent years but always keeping this on the back burner. The idea to create a place for men who pursue things in Fiber Arts is helping me bring it more in the forefront by creating menyarn.com came to me. This now gives me a place to put forward my knitting creations from over the years! I just found a large notebook of 268 sketches of Men’s Sweater designs which I had totally forgotten about but I also have over 2237 computer design sketches that I created with a program I have and now I have over 2500 sweater designs to begin working on! My goal is to start writing and selling these patterns along with the yarn, tools and supplies I already carry! I will continue to post every kind of creation I can find and examples of men who share the love for creating things with yarn! I appreciate the support and kindness so many of you guys have shown and welcome your input and your questions. So many of you have shared things with me and have really made my day by doing so! I thank you for that!

Another FASHION show example of this round neck garter stitch pullover with set-in sleeves and ribbing around the neck and base of the body and no ribbing on the cuffs just garter stitch! It is a heathered tan color heavy weight yarn, but this is also a very trim fit which really make this work well and there is a band one inch in from the armhole which helps tighten the garter stitch and giving the armhole stability, so it doesn't stretch out too much! It shows off the model's body well which gives this design quite a nice appearance!

This ginger is wearing a light, neutral heathered pullover sweater with set-in sleeves and a round, tall neck and a centered cable pattern. With a 1x1 ribbing both the sleeve cuffs and the base are short but the ribbing on the neck is fairly tall. The sleeves and sides of the body are in stockinette stitch and the cable pattern on the body has a complicated center cable and a back and forth simple and complicated pattern. The bearded ginger wears it well and the addition of some tight, ginger-colored jeans show off his physique and bring more attention to his matching beard and very handsome face!

Here is a design for an all-over cable pattern with centers of garter stitch done in this light, bright green and looking comfortable with its round neck, set-in sleeves and 2x2 ribbing on the cuffs, bottom and neckline. This design by Martin Storey stands out and looks well on this handsome young man and it available on Knitsi as a free pattern!

Here is a simple, basic cardigan made from Tahki Yarn... a blast from the past! It is a heathered steel blue has 1x1 ribbing on the base, neck, sleeves and up the center front with five buttonholes for five buttons, of course! It also has ribbing on the top of the two front pockets! The body and sleeves appear to be a trim traditional fit and the sleeves are set-in. Quite a pleasant look and quite a pleasant looking guy!
