Established in 2006 within a 250-acre parcel of Pennsylvania farmland, the Karamoor Estate vineyard is nestled on 27 acres of softly sloping fields. Karamoor Estate is one of the first vineyards in Pennsylvania to be engineered and operated with the production of Eurocentric style dry wines. Emillion in Bordeaux and the white wines of Burgundy. te-of-the-art winery that opened in the Fall, 2011. The vineyard was conceived and designed with the goal of producing the highest quality of fruit and wine possible. Particular consideration was given to the choice of plant material, clones and vine density. In choosing the vines for Karamoor Estate we worked closely with the top nurseries in California to assure that we used only strong, healthy vines that clonally trace their lineage back to Bordeaux. In making the clone selection, our principal criteria were small clusters, reduced vine size, early maturing fruit and clones known to produce intense flavors. To augment and enhance these characteristics, we elected to plant the vines closer together and reduce the space between rows providing nearly 2,000 vines per acre. Limiting the amount of space for each vine allows more of the vines’ energy to go towards fewer grape clusters and promotes the riper, intense flavors that are the hallmark of fruit grown at Karamoor Estate. Karamoor Estate is part of a Pennsylvania winemaking tradition that is over 325 years old and we are committed to producing wines that reflect the unique character of our vineyard with a respect for old world traditions. It’s been a long winter, but it’s time to reopen The Terrace !
Come join us for a wine tasting for $25 or purchase bottles to enjoy drinking while overlooking our vineyard. Our outdoor space currently has walls and heaters for added warmth on these chilly early days of spring.
We are located in the suburbs of Philadelphia and we look forward to welcoming you.
