Medical vs. Non-Medical In-Home Care: What’s the Difference?

When families start looking for help at home for a loved one whom is choosing to stay at home, this is one of the most common questions.

Medical Home Care 🩺
Provided by licensed healthcare professionals such as nurses or therapists. This type of care focuses on medical needs like wound care, injections, therapy, and monitoring health conditions.

Non-Medical In-Home Care
Provided by caregivers who help with daily living and support at home. This can include:
• Bathing and dressing
• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Companionship
• Transportation and errands
• Medication reminders

Many seniors don’t need medical treatment every day—but they do benefit from support with daily activities and having someone there to help.

The right care can help your loved one stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their home.
