Check it out we have an entire week! As a sawmill, we manufacture lumber by processing raw logs into various grades of boards, planks, and other wood products.

Wisconsin’s forests cover nearly half of our state and are a vital part of our collective history, culture and economy. Likewise, the Forest Products industry provides valuable jobs and contributes significantly to the economy. Forest Products Week offers an opportunity to learn about sustainable forest practices and to develop an appreciation for the valuable resources that Wisconsin forests provide.

Forest Products Week 2026 starts on Sunday, Oct. 18. Tours and special events will be hosted throughout the week at various locations, including logging sites, sawmills, paper manufacturers, secondary and urban wood manufacturers.

National Forest Products Week was established in 1960 with a proclamation brought forth from Congress and approved by President Kennedy, Public Law 86-753 (36 U.S.C. 123). The language in the proclamation cited the importance of forest products, dating back to the country's founding and its ever-demanding growth cycles. From building materials and paper products to furniture and bioenergy, wood has a central tie to our daily lives.

Today, decades after its launch, National Forest Products Week celebrates one of our nation's most valuable resources and the people who transform trees into countless products that improve our lives.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the hardworking men and women who keep the timber industry moving!

Behind every load of logs is a whole lot of hard work, dedication, early mornings, long days, and determination. Logging isn’t just a job — it’s a way of life, and it takes a special kind of person to do it day in and day out. 💪🌲

Here at Cooper & Sons Timber, we want to give a special shoutout to Jeremie Cooper, owner of Cooper & Sons Timber and Cooper Forest Products, for his dedication, leadership, and hard work in keeping both operations going strong.

We also want to recognize the hardworking crew at Cooper Forest Products, who put in the time and effort to keep the timber coming to our sawmill. Your hard work, commitment, and pride in what you do never go unnoticed!

From the woods to the sawmill, it takes teamwork, grit, and dedication to make it all happen.
